Into week 9 now and just getting nowhere. It’s tested my patience to the point that I’ve just lost all excitement and enthusiasm.
It’s a simple matter of six straightforward enquiries made by our solicitor that the online conveyancers the vendor is using haven’t dealt with. I phoned the EA every day last week and they chased and just kept getting the answer “the vendor has supplied the case handler with the information and it will be reviewed so they can reply to your solicitor”.
It’s coming to the stage where I feel like I should be imposing a deadline and stamping my feet but my sensible head knows we’d be fools to walk away from this property if we didn’t absolutely have to.
It’s just endlessly frustrating that something so simple can take so long, even when prodding people along.0 -

Sorry to say but my sellers solicitor has taken 4.5 weeks so far and responded to 2.5 points out of 7, they really can go as slow as they like sometimes
Me & my solicitor despatched 16 points from my buyers in under half an hour yesterday & the formal response will be served back within 24 hours of it coming in roughly- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps0 -
Starting to feel like I'm making some progress. The survey took 6 weeks but at least they refunded half the cost. Demolition orders have been removed and I have the solicitor's written word that the extension's legal so in the event that it's not at least I can sue her!0

The Estate agent contacted me today as our buyer wants us to allow access for an engineer to service the boiler. Not an unreasonable request I know, but I work every day and don't get home until 6 so now I'm going to appear obstructive when I say they can't come on weekdays. We have no family nearby or anyone else I can leave the key with!
On top of all that we actually had it serviced in April ready for going on the market but they're obviously not satisfied with the receipt I provided for the work
Is anyone here having the boiler serviced in the house you're buying? The one in our new house is old, probably about same as the one here but we offered knowing that, so I was just planning on having it looked at in our first week of moving in.
Yes. My survey advised a gas an electric check. The vendor has had the gas check done but not the electrics so I am doing it as there is a question mark over when it was rewired. The surveyor told me that it is standard practice to advise these services are checked. I wouldn't bother with a newer house but if a house has not been maintained and I am up for thousands of pounds in repairs I want to know0 -
We have had 2 weeks added on to our completion date waiting time now. My buyer is refusing to complete on the date everyone else has agreed to. He is an investor so it's not like he has to move! My husband can't have time off so I'm going to have to try and move on my own! Don't know wether to laugh or cry
An investor may not have to move physically but he probably needs to move cash around. It is unlikely it is sitting in a current account. An extra week could mean an extra interest payment.0
