Day 5 of living with parents and still nothing! I've emailed both the solicitor and the estate agents. Solicitor has advised that if she hasn't heard anything by tomorrow, she will have to cancel the request for the mortgage company to release the funds for Friday. Incredibly frustrated with the lack of info from the top of the chain especially when it was them and our vendors who had mutually agreed the 15th. An update would be appreciated even if it's not the update we'd like to hear!0

Can I join?
We are selling a flat to a chain free buyer, which is a non-dependant purchase (we are living in rented).
Offer accepted on sale 8/11/18
(Enquiries, management pack, etc)...
Offer accepted on purchase 14/2/19
Mortgage offer received 26/2/19
Deed of variation on sale requested 6/3/19
Survey on purchase 12/3/19
We really hoped we would have exchanged by now as our sale is really dragging and the buyer has threatened pulling out to the EA (meanwhile his solicitors keep raising new enquiries that have already been answered).
Feeling very stressed and just want to exchange on the sale as it is an empty property costing us a lot in council tax, service charge etc.Total debt outstanding: Jan18 -£1813 / Feb18 -£1649 / Mar18 -£1278 / Apr18 -£999 / May18 -£632 / June18 -£316 / July18 £0
House Buy/Sell Fund: Jan18 £0 / Feb18 £184 / Mar18 £568 / Apr18 £936 / May18 £956 / June18 £1538 / Jul18 £2233 / Aug18 £27190 -
It’s completion day for us today! Solicitor confirmed mortgage funds had arrived with him yesterday and we’re all set. Now it’s just the long wait for the funds to be sent to the vendors solicitor this morning and then we will hopefully get the call to collect the keys!
We’re fortunate in that we have our rental property until mid April, so we don’t have the mad rush to move today. Instead we will be taking a leisurely trip to B&Q to buy supplies and will probably spend the afternoon sugar soaping.
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. It seems like it will never happen, but it will eventually!
UPDATE - Got the call at 09.57 to say we are now officially completed and can collect the keys! :j0 -
Congrats! I’m at uni today and will undoubtedly be distracted checking my emails because we’re awaiting confirmation that we can exchange today with a Friday completion0

Still waiting to exchange. We’ve been waiting since the 4th of March but the sellers still haven’t found anything to rent, and are now not answering their solicitors. I have an awful feeling this is going to fall through, and we’ll lose £2000.0

Ouch! Why so much?
Contracts still not exchanged here0 -
Our mortgage fee was £999, valuation £580, search fees £300 and a few other small bits paid out. Feeling really fed up over it now.0

We’ve been thinking about moving since Oct 17 and finally put house on the market and sold it STC in May 18. We found what seemed like the right house for us and had our offer accepted. Unfortunately in October the sellers pulled out after several issues were uncovered through the survey and searches. Rather than negotiate, they pulled the house off the market; we suspect they’d also had second thoughts about downsizing to a new build. We then scrambled to find another house; a few days after having an offer accepted on another one our buyer pulled out as had got cold feet while waiting. We went back on the market and sold in December. Have been looking for a house since, finally found one and had offer accepted...then found out it’s been repossessed! Feeling cursed at the moment. We need to move not just for more space for our family but also because I work from home and desperately need a proper office space, so not being able to move for so long is hard in many ways Keeping the faith that we will still be able to buy the repossessed house when it’s back on the market!!0

Viewed house: 20/10/18
DIP: 22/10/18
Offer accepted: 23/10/18
Mortgage offered: 27/11/18 (slightly delayed due to signature - my own fault)
Exchanged for sale: 05/03/19
Completed sale: 08/03/19

IT FINALLY HAPPENED! We complete tomorrow. It’s only taken us 22 months from putting our house up for sale!0 -

14th Feb - response from solicitor that they will ask re shed.
21st Feb - receive fixtures and fittings list. Seems it took a month to get to me. Solicitors letter says still awaiting property information (so far had nothing off my solicitor including searches)

27th Feb - voicemail left by estate agents saying my seller is popping to their solicitors to sign the paperwork ready for exchange.
11th March - Solicitor cancels my meeting, will meet me on 18th
12th March - Another viewing of house, meet owner, not pleasant experience.

Feel like we are getting close. So far all my solicitor has sent me is a property info form and fixtures and fittings list. Shouldn't I have had more than this? Guessing they will go over things on the 18thAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0
