I feel the same, just want to exchange so we know it's actually happening. We are on limbo, living surrounded by boxes. No idea if we should have started packing or not but I couldn't just do nothing. We are just at the mercy of the building company that are building the new build at the top of the chain. They want to exchange but won't give a concrete date for completion. Very frustrating. I would never buy a new build myself after this experience.0

I've got the boxes and bubble wrap etc. I don't want to start though until I know it's happening haha.0

We've exchanged. 22 weeks since acceptance, 10 weeks after we wanted to complete. Completion next week.
Not sure what I feel at the moment, have never really 'loved' this house, it's all about location. Hopefully we can put our mark on it, but that won't be for a couple of years. Need to do some work on it so we can rent it out before we're able to move there ourselves.Make £2025 in 2025

Ha ha, I was in that frame of mind about a month ago, and then just thought "I can't wait any longer!" and started packing. Still waiting to exchange, weeks after we thought, but at least everything is packed and ready, and it does help prepare emotionally while you're sorting through everything!! Also makes me realise we can manage with just 2 glasses, plates and pans and about 6 items of clothing.
I did have to unpack one box to make lasagna.
Good luck everyone waiting!!!!0 -
One bonus is there is less stuff to tidy up, less pots being used etc because it's all been packed away. Not looking forward to unpacking it all again on the other side.0

Yes I've already spoken to Barclays who say they can only send by post - and a quick google has led me to some irate customers who've been waiting 10 days+ for their closing statements from them! Seems such a ridiculous way of doing things in this day and age!!
My OH's never arrived in post... Solicitor asked her to hand as many supporting documents as she could in so they could send them off... Seems to be sorted now but the bank said they couldn't send out anymore "closing statements"... Lloyds gave me what I needed there and then.0 -

I'm going to start this weekend I think, I can't really delay it any longer if it might be happening next week haha. Hope you manage to get everything sorted soon!0 -
We are due to Exchange and complete today, my solicitor called me at 5:30 this morning as she is going on holiday and just wanted to confirm with me who was handling the completion today etc and to scan my ID over again as the original document is corrupt.
Luckily I am up around half 4 for work and on the road by half 5 with a toddler in tow! . I think she was just about to board a plane by the sounds of it :rotfl:
Will start giving everyone a little call/ nudge at 10ish.

Hi, thought I'd join!
This has been a bit stressful as we were told we would have to leave our rented place the day we put in our first offer so are trying to push everything through while I finish my PhD and start a new job (Monday! eep)
Mid June- Started Looking
4th July Best and final offer accepted after being told we couldn't stay at current place
6th July Meeting with mortgage broker
8th July Mortgage offer submitted, solicitor instructed
17-28th July Given run around by mortgage lenders, asking for information they already have received, asking for more information, losing information until...
1st August Told over the phone when broker was on holiday that application had been managed declined
2nd-4th August Have major panic and get together another application to send if needed. Confirmed twice more that application had been declined. Drink half case of beer
7th August Told original application had been accepted! Tear hair out, drink more beer and grit teeth
10th August More information asked for by lenders which has already been sent. Gently remind them its there
11th August All searches back from solicitor, no issues
14th August Offer finally received in writing! Cry for joy
22nd August Homebuyers survey carried out
1st September Homebuyers survey back (undervalued house by £10k...)
And so I sit here now trying to finish my PhD for next Friday, starting full time work on Monday, with a nervous wreck of a boyfriend trying to not punch a wall. Anyone else turning into an alcoholic with this?0 -
