hope you get some answers and dates soon
Hang in there and stay strong. I dare say a few Christmas drinkies will help if you're so inclined!2 -

Due to exchange by the end of the week and complete on 9th.
I've said if we don't exchange before Christmas then I'll push it back to the 16th as I'm not being rushed lol.
I'm viewing another on Friday that looks lovely so fingers crossed it's a winner.0 -
We have finally exchanged!
Completion set for the 6th January.
We'll see if she actually clears the house of her stuff, if not we have some funds held back to get it done. The way I'm looking at it is, if we walk in on the 6th and it's empty, I'll be the happiest bunny ever. If we walk in and it's not, well I'm not going to let it upset me too much as I'm half expecting it anyway.0 -

Good luck & hope all the tat has gone when you move in.1 -
@badger09
Lol, i'm glad to hear you at least had a proper bed!
Yes, we can kind of relax now, although i've got plenty of jobs to do with sorting out utilities etc. We also realise we are quite lucky as we're currently renting and have to give notice so we've got a bit of an overlap between properties, so we can stay at the rental for a while as we start to sort out the new house, so no mad rush on completion day to get moved, although the house does need a fair bit of work so we'll be getting the trades in to start ASAP.
In relation to a lot of people we've actually had it quite easy, we're not in a chain, and it's only taken 4 months in total, but it still feels like it's been dragging on forever lol
Good luck to all those still waiting for news, i've got my fingers crossed for all of you.

I just emailed our solicitor to try and get a last minute update before the Xmas break and got the inevitable out of office reply. So we're in limbo until 3rd Jan. I'm kinda annoyed they didn't at least tell us their seasonal availability before shutting down for the year.0

maybe solicitor just put out of office on ready. I once had a automatic reply from
solicitor on a Friday afternoon saying she was out of office until the following Tues but then got an email about an hour later
i hope you don’t have to wait until 3rd. Being in limbo is awful0 -
Update from solicitor last night. Form
still not received and not received today either - apparently they are “doing all they can “ to get this resolved
update from EA they’ve been in contact with previous owner who says they have now signed another copy and sent by guaranteed next day delivery today
not sure if postal strike will affect this though?0 -

Just had 2nd thought. If you manage to exchange this week before conveyancer closes, they will call for mortgage funds to arrive in time for 5th. If not, then I think 5th will be out of the question.
@Camboudica Yes, that's what my conveyancer has explained to me and we are all set up for. The issue we are having now is that the conveyancers are having trouble getting hold of the seller to agree to the completion date ... sooo it may be that that puts the dates back more than anything. It will have to be pushed if there arent enough days for funds I'm assuming etc.
Ah well, we shall see. At least something is happening and the end is in sightMortgage Feb 2023- £249,210 MFW 2023 #20: £524.05/£500 (104.81%)0
