RM_2013 said:@poppysmam let’s hope they have a good think about things this evening and realise they’re being over cautious. I hope you get some update from the EA tomorrow. Are they FTB? They may have other people in their ear telling them it’s risky. You know what it’s like. Everyone has an opinion to give!!
Thank you. No news today but didn’t expect anything after 2 days of strikes. If the form turns up in the post tomorrow that would be fantastic. If we could at least exchange before Christmas then I will have something to look forward to and I will feel a lot less anxious. I just know that if the form doesn’t arrive before they break up for Christmas I am just going to convince myself that it will all fall throughI have mentally prepared myself to start from scratch again, though.Really got everything crossed for some news for you tomorrow! That would be a huge weight off your mind.1 -
@EndlessStruggle yes, it seems so. The property is just over 20 years old and so the EA and sols have said, isn’t any more of a risk as any other house would be? EA seemed very confused as to why this has only just been noticed (I’m guessing re going over everything prior to signing contracts) She thinks the buyers possibly might not have an understanding of its exact meaning and may just need reassurance. I hope this is the case. If not, we go again. Sigh.Hoping you hear something back tomorrow. Keep us posted!0

I'm really sorry to hear @poppysmam, I really hope you get some positive news today! Really sounds like they're just inexperienced and getting cold feet, I hope the estate agent can talk some sense into them.1

No good news here either. It turns out the answers on the solar panel questions are definitely required, and the sellers have provided virtually no information so far. The estate agent is checking in with them too to see what the problem is.
There's no way completion Monday will happen though, so I just booked a hotel. It's hit me a bit hard this morning because I've just had to fill in a few forms all asking for my address, and we just won't have one for the near future. Hotel will only be Monday-Friday, we're going to see my family in Germany for Christmas, and then probably my husband's family in Wales after, so it should all be fine, it's just between this and work stress I'm a bit of a mess this morning.0 -
Thank you @julicorn I really hope today I get some news that they still want to proceed, but preparing myself for the worst. What a shame that it has come to that for you. It’s nice to know you’re spending Christmas and new year with family though. Hopefully it will be very temporary for you. I always try to remind myself when I get in a tizz - “this too shall pass.” Easier said than done I know.1

No news here. I’ve informed the estate agents that we would be willing to make a small reduction in the agreed price if it means we can still proceed. I’m not sure if this will make much difference to the FTB, I guess if they really don’t want the house it won’t matter all that much. So, another day of checking my phone constantly.Hoping you folks get some updates0

Thank you @poppysmam, I really appreciate it
Well, this morning has been another roller coaster ride. After previously saying they didn't have any more documentation, they've now sent through detailed answers to all 14 (!) solar panel questions, so very suddenly we have everything we needed. Our solicitor is just chasing them for confirmation that they are good to complete on Monday (something about a redemption?), so she can order funds and exchange today. I am SO CONFUSED but also very happy that those docs have come through - might be that Monday doesn't happen, but at least this is a much better situation than I felt we were in this morning.4 -
Have received our contracts and hand delivering them to our solicitor today because of the postal strikes. Hopefully all is well and we can exchange & complete before Christmas! Good luck everyone x2

Completed my sale this morning at 10.30 and obviously a real weight of my mind and we can focus on the property we hope to move into in February.
I really hope the new owners are happy, I spent a fair bit of money trying to get the property up to scratch before selling but I am aware of 1 or 2 minor issues with the property and feel slightly guilty I did not get around to resolving these. Anyone else feel like this when selling a property?0
