I'm with you on that, hope all those that are waiting get good news on dates this week!
  • A new week indeed.

Not sure if I still have the energy to call estate agent to chase for an update from the vendor’s solicitor.. if they are really just waiting for the redemption statement from vendor’s lender then surely me calling everyday won’t help. Already had to call everyday to chase for a completion date (for two weeks) and then wait for them to review their file (another week), this was all after they failed to communicate with my solicitor for more than a month..

My body seems to be responding to stress, with chronic stomach problems getting a bit worse, cold sores coming up, irregular menstrual spotting, and last week my stomach bled after some lemon juice (not first time my stomach bleeds but never was because of lemon juice). If this keeps going on I’m not sure how much longer my body can take it..

@donutandbeer let’s hope it’s the final straight now for you. I get what you say about the stress.! I’m working overtime in an already stressful job and the added worry and stress of will we complete or will it all fall through has been awful.
Let’s have some good news this week fingers crossed
  • So, we've just got the last search back and our conveyancer has raised a query with the sellers solicitor about something in it, but everything else seems pretty standard stuff.

We're still trying to get quotes for the roof work that was highlighted in the survey and I'm getting absolutely nowhere with that, so we're no further forward as yet.

Yes my finger crossed for everyone too.

I’m aware that we are not even under that much stress compared to some others, no real deadlines to follow and it doesn’t look like our vendor will pull out, but the waiting is still crazy. I probably shouldn’t have let my life to be put on hold this year so much for this whole house thing, but I doubt how much I can cope if otherwise 😂

Another day with no updates 😂

Emailed the agent, got an out of office reply

Wont pester the solicitor just yet as only heard from her on Thursday to say she’d had a response to enquiries but not all were answered so she’s gone back to the sellers solicitor to chase. Will email her on Wednesday if I don’t hear.

I’m only stressing because our mortgage offer expiry means we really need to complete before Xmas. If we can just get confirmation that we can exchange by the end of Nov and complete first couple of weeks of Dec Il be more than happy.

If we exchange by the end of Nov, il save £700 rent by giving our 1 month notice in Nov rather than Dec… so I’m hoping they’ll get it done!

Good luck to the rest in similar boats…

We're in the same boat rent wise, unless we can agree a completion date around our rent payment date we'll have to pay out a lot extra as we already have to give 2 months notice.

I hope you manage to get your dates lined up.

We're attempting to exchange on our sale towards the end of this week, only completing just before Christmas though.

In the meantime, we're waiting for the conveyancing on our new purchase to catch up. It would be great if we could complete on the same day as we're moving out of our current home, but will see (current plan B is to annoy friends and family for a few weeks over Christmas and then airbnb, with our belongings in storage).

No news here today.  Last contact was Friday where on purchase solicitor had advised that some replies to enquiries had been received so would be reviewed and the outstanding ones chased and on the sale our solicitors were advising that there were no further enquiries outstanding but were waiting for the buyers solicitors to confirm they were happy so that we could start discussing dates.  Will chase them weds if no news tomorrow
