Getting closer to the end of my mortgage offer...and my sanity.
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -

I just had the estate agent calling them up (by the way this is PB and the vendor is using their recommended solicitor), and surprise!! Turned out they are still waiting for the redemption statement from the vendor’s lender. They said they have put in an urgent request but at this point I think it’s safe to just ignore any adjective uttered by them.0

Honestly! Why do people insist on moving the goalposts all the time!!!! Just when we think things are progressing we hit another hurdle.
After our buyers dragging the heels for what felt like forever, they came back with a 1 month mortgage extension (to Christmas), in an effort to be nice, and only to be nice as it is going to both cost us and be a huge hassle, we agreed that if we were to complete w/c 19th Dec we would impose on family for a few weeks until our sellers were ready to complete mid Jan. All agreed, lots of thanks from the bottom of the chain, reduction in EA fee to help cover costs....great all moving nicely.
Yesterday...Buyer sends EA an email confirming that they and their buyer have agreed the 9th of Dec...that's 10 days earlier and goes back to our flat no response when they asked us to break the chain end of Nov! Why? Just Why? So another weekend here not knowing what is going on!
On the purchase side, mortgage all approved and home-buyer survey hopefully happening any day now.
Our timeline so far (for this chain only)
Jan 2022, accepted offer on our property.
1st Oct - offer accepted on onward purchase, they already have their purchase in motion so chain complete.
3rd Oct, solicitors instructed.
4th Oct, Memorandum of Sales for both properties received, mortgage process started. Received and sent back all initial sale paperwork
5th Oct, received all initial purchase paperwork. Applied for mortgage.
25th Oct, mortgage documents all received, lots of paperwork for the various accounts!!
28th Oct, vendor forms received and first set of searches back0 -
