Last enquiry dragging out now! My solicitor is saying they've sent it and have been waiting for a response, seller's solicitor is saying they haven't received anything, so somebody's lying despite chasing on both sides! Apparently this is on my solicitors list to chase "at some point this week". Very frustrating!

Also apparently my side asked for a completion date target last week but seller has heard nothing from their side re that request :(

Is this standard sol practice? ;)

My target of end of next week to complete is looking less and less likely :(
  • Back to waiting for exchange after exchange and completion failed on Friday. Hopefully it won't be too long 🤞

Might be worth contacting your estate agent and seeing if their sales progressor can speak to the solicitors and find out what's going on, I find they're a lot better than solicitors at moving things along!!

Normally I would do but unfortunately the EA is PB, not heard sight nor sound from them since offer accepted, in good contact with the vendor themselves though so we've been acting as sales progression between ourselves.
  • Quick question all! How long does it usually take for confirmation of survey from mortgage lender? Our lender did a survey on the house we are buying a week ago and heard nothing.

Depends what you mean by survey, a basic valuation survey/a home buyers report/a full survey...first one you may not hear as it's for the bs/Bank rather than you, others one to two weeks depending on efficiency of surveyors.

we are still waiting ….. and waiting …. and  waiting .
How long has it taken to get to this point ?
It took 7 weeks from when our offer was accepted, the last week was me chasing for a revised mortgage offer. As the seller received a substantially higher offer a few days before we were due to exchange!
    Mortgage balance April 2022 - £235,000
    Mortgage balance July 2023 -£229,616
    Mortgage balance July 2022
    £222,825

Thanks - it’s the valuation survey. Was done on Thursday 24th and mortgage was accepted Thursday subject to valuation, which is weird as I’m buying in Scotland so they have access to a home report which has a valuation in it.

Solicitor has started searches etc now as my vendors are hoping to move in June, so not long!
