The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Got a call to exchange this morning and gave approval. Completely unexpected! Last week I was complaining to the sales progressor about how long it was taking, on Friday got told that we thought everything was in line and we might be able to exchange this week but still needed to discuss dates. Then bam, this morning email asking me to give verbal authority.

Given, but now we wait. We're FTB so I guess we'll always get the call first.

We’re waiting on our extended mortgage offer to appear then hopefully exchanging this week too 🤞🏽

May not be exchanging now because my buyers are with PPL and they are useless. Solicitors sent remaining answers to their enquiries on 2nd December. They received a email back on 8th December saying they were reviewing it and will let them know if any other enquiries. My solicitors have been trying to get hold of them since jan. 

My buyers mortgage ran out mid jan and they said they suspended their file until the new mortgage offer has been accepted. They email today saying they are waiting on the enquiries which I have said we’re sent 8th dec so they now want them sent again as they cannot find them. 

Ridiculous!!!! 

So this will probably delay us as they have no sense of urgency whatsoever!! The offer on our house was accepted in July!! They should be ready by now!!!

Didn't make exchange today. Mad day of emails flinging back and forth. We were asked to verbally authorise for 2nd March completion (I know that's a long way off for some but we were working on the assumption of 3-4 weeks between exchange and completion up until this point and didn't even realise we'd be exchanging today anyway). I gave verbal authority and then waited and waited...

Top of the chain came back and said they need it to be earlier, 22nd Feb, which seems madly soon to suddenly decide but maybe that's just me. I am away on a work trip and my seller's removals company is fully booked so we're still both pushing for the 2nd. I just hope they aren't too adamant about the 22nd! We did discuss my OH going to collect keys and me coming along a few days later but it's our first house and it just makes me so unbelievably sad thinking about not being able to walk into our new first house together with him (I actually burst into tears at this thought lol). So fingers crossed we might exchange tomorrow!! Terrifying.

I'm waiting for two enquiries to come back that have been sent apparently but my solicitor hasn't received. I usually get the seller to harrass PPL and then I go through Purple Bricks Post Sales phoneline.

I'm pushing for 18th/21st but there seems to be no urgency on their end to get ducks in a row this week.

we were supposed to exchange yesterday, but my buyers said they had given their agreement to their solicitor on Friday as they were on holiday for a week (UK) but somehow wires got crossed & their solicitor were waiting for them to give authority !!

The wait goes on , I just wish everyone had decent solicitors :-(
