    Fingers crossed for me this week. My vendors are waiting to receive their report on contract after last round of enquiries was returned. Last thing outstanding is for them to read and sign. Been waiting since the end of November for this to happen!

    No I am fortunate that we have waited so long to buy this darn house…..we have a good budget already saved for some new furniture purchases
    Haha this is me too. We "jumped the gun" on viewing properties (we had deposit and stamp duty but not all the other little fees saved, but thought it'd take us a few months to find a house). Ended up getting offer accepted on the 5th house we viewed and I was in a right panic about having funds for moving costs, conveyancing etc.

    6 months later I've saved all that plus decorating budget, sofa budget, new radiators, all appliances... I'm now branching out into buying the odd new towel and such!
  • I’m holding up the whole chain since my HOA is taking ages to sort out some FME1 form. Hope that is sorted soon and then we can all agree exchange and completion dates.

    You really need the patience of a saint when buying property!

    My offer was accepted on 17/08/2021 and the chain were looking to complete last Friday which was then pushed back until the 18th.

    I've been checking my emails all day for an email from my conveyancer to confirm that contracts have been exchanged but the seller’s solicitor never got back to her by her COP deadline. Super frustrating!

    So 5 months then. Not unusual at all and shouldn't have been unexpected.

    Usual or not you still always expect things to hopefully go quicker so the frustration when buying a house is always understandable.

    @safvoxi hope you complete soon.

    @charlotteo1988 Thank you!!

    5 months is actually pretty good for a leasehold flat and getting a chain formed. I just wish I knew that at the start of the process rather than being told it should take 12 weeks and that there's no chain.
    Waiting is harder when you're given the wrong timescales/information. You're in a perpetual state of hopefullness, setting you up for constant disappointments.

    I agree! I think that is the hardest part. Still no news on my side. I would love to take advantage of January sales but also very reluctant to get my hopes up when we have no idea when exchange or completion will be.

    Same here! We will be renovating the bathroom and everything on sale now! We're waiting on last enquiry then agreeing an exchange date. Fingers crossed we both get this done before Feb!
  • I’m so sad. Just did a drive by to see if the house looks any different (things being moved out) or the valuation been done yet. But there is no sign of either as there is a card still hanging out the door that was there yesterday when I had a quick drive past 😂.
