It has reached the stage where I'm receiving calls from Vendor's EA warning me vendor is talking about re-marketing as they've lost faith in the chain being able to complete.

Myself and wife have been discussing the possibility of having to stay put as our costs have spiraled and since offering on our onward purchase in August we've not seen a single suitable property come up for sale, despite our 100 sq. mile search area. By the time we find another suitable property, compounded with rising house prices, our storage/solicitor costs would have eaten too far into our budget preventing us from affording what we need/want.

Over time we have now unpacked around 25% of our stuff as things become needed.... anything from hoover bags to sponges to wash the car, it seems every day now we are digging through boxes looking for something.

Then out of the blue this morning I get an email forwarded from buyers solicitor.... "Our client has, thankfully, ironed out the issues with their lender. We are just waiting for their written confirmation they are happy to proceed"

So now what - can we start believing its all to play for again?

Please please please can it all finally work out! Once this move is done, if it is done, we'll never want to move again.

What a rollercoaster this has been, and continues to be!
Almost everyone who posts on here has been through/is going through the mill, but your mill just seems to keep grinding you down. Really hope you can finally get this over the line now.
  • Omg what it is with some people!! 🙄 so was on such a high yesterday with the mortgage offer through thinking we are getting some where again. But now been told the contract pack hasn’t been sent yet because the seller hasn’t sent all the forms back yet. We had the accepted the offer back on the 15th December. Apparently the estate agents can’t get hold of the seller either. Not the start I wanted.

@Folksriker, sounds like we are on a similar timeline.....fingers crossed! I think we are at the point where we are waiting on the contents list (we are buying several bits of furniture along with the house), and a query about a change that was made to the property, and then.....maybe......hopefully........

Fully agree with PB - I know people say the EA shouldn’t make a difference as a buyer but since our offer was accepted it’s like they’ve struck us off the books as a person to interact with and ignore communication.

So after radio silence since 2nd December whilst my solicitor was awaiting answers to the 3 further queries I am no further forward.

The sellers solicitor is adamant they have answered them, my solicitor is saying they haven’t and are not getting any replies to emails etc. Estate agent is trying to resolve now, but it feels like only me has done any chasing and I’m pretty fed up now and can’t see what else I can do to get it moving.

I have given the estate agent until Friday to show some movement otherwise I will have to look at my options again as we are staying at my parents and they are also moving in February.

The good thing is I know I’m not the only one who finds buying so frustrating!

I think you are going to have a fight on your hands to pull this off before your deadline. (Think you mentioned previously there was a time limit on one aspect or another).

So I sent a text to the estate agent who showed us round and she rang me straight away. She said the vendor only had the paperwork on Monday. Doesn’t have a printer or scanner so has got it all together to go into work today to sort it and send it to solicitors today so hopefully will be with my solicitor Monday. The vendor is now aware of the time scale and is happy to push his solicitor to ensure they don’t drag their feet.
    Fingers crossed.

I don’t get why things take so long some time. I said my buyer’s proposed date didn’t work and proposed one in the future… days waiting on a response. With my luck, the removal will be booked for my proposed date by the time they agree or not.
