We've been waiting since July, too. I never thought I'd be so close to my due date 🙈
Our buyer has had his meeting today, so should be ready to exchange afterwards. He's pushing for tomorrow or Wednesday, and then completing next Monday, but I don't think the chain can do anything until Weds due to a solicitor being away, and then they need 5 days for mortgage funds to be drawn down, apparently.
No completion statement yet here; either. I'm desperate for exchange to be confirmed for Wednesday.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

I'm also waiting to exchange and I am a ball of anxiety tonight, hence why I am posting here as I think my family are fed up of me complaining! I am a FTB, put an offer in at the beginning of July and still at the enquiry stage. The seller's solicitor hasn't got back to enquiries from a month ago. I know that there is an issue up chain with someone not finding a place to move to but I don't know the details. I'm really worried the seller is going to pull out.0

Congrats to you, glad you're at the end🙂0 -
@Welshspacechick what an annoying person you have to deal with! Looks like you really need to start looking at more houses just in case. Are there a lot of choices in your area? There are not a lot of houses available in my area. The ones that are on the market are over priced.
@Ref44 Exciting!
Really don't understand how these solicitors business thing work! I proposed 2.5 weeks ago to complete. No replies, until I chased again and suddenly told me it can be done at the very last minute!
@charlotteo1988 @DeletedUser Hope everything goes smoothly within your chains.
@greensalad Excellent timing for the whole thing! Update us if the remaining person in the chain is happy with the date.FTB on no chain house

Aw, @tryingmybest99, that sounds rough. If the chain isn’t complete, there’s probably not too much happening above you… do you know if your sellers would be willing to break the chain?It’s not unusual for solicitors to not start the next stage until the chain is complete and progressing, so your sellers solicitor might just be sitting on enquiries until everyone is ready.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0

I've had my survey back and there are a number of things that need doing, some more urgently than others and the garage has been pretty much written off completely.
I'm not surprised as the house was very under priced (£30k under valuation) but it isn't as bad as I thought it might be.
I've put aside a sum for the work so it's not a big issue.
A builder can take care of 90% of the jobs, there are just a lot of them that need doing.
Just one enquiry outstanding that my solicitor is chasing and then we should exchange and complete this month.
We aren't a chain so it's just me and the seller and they are selling an inherited property they've rented out for 10 years to free up funds.0
