New buyer came for his viewing today, and bought his son and the two people who will live with his son. They seemed shocked at how pregnant I’ve got 😂 they’re very keen to move in and asked if we’d contemplate breaking the chain so they could move in before we exchange, but we can’t make that work. We can go fast - the house above us is empty - but that’s all.

He’s quite concerned that his buyer has said that it’ll be 4 - 6 weeks from this point, and that buying searches only cuts a few days off. He said he’ll try pushing her, but she threatened to block his emails last week 😬 Hoping it was a stamp duty thing, and next week goes smoother. 

Valuation takes place Monday, so he should have a mortgage offer by early next week, I hope. My husband is very excited, and is now planning the kitchen/nursery/etc 😂 

I’m so rooting for us all being done soon!

I can't quite get my head round your new buyer's request. Why would you let anyone move in to what would still be your house? That's not breaking the chain, it's letting a stranger live in your house 😳 I might have misunderstood, but glad you said no.

We had our report back yesterday and all seems pretty reasonable. The main things are that all of the showers are broken in some way, but we were planning on replacing them anyway! Our surveyor was really thorough and updated our floorplan as it was wrong.

This morning we had a notification that a hard credit search was made on us both yesterday. Fingers crossed its all okay!

I'm not sure if I said before but we're actually porting our mortgage and borrowing more. Hopefully the valuation will go well on Thursday and we'll find out soon after.

It's actually my birthday on Friday so let's hope for a great gift from Nationwide!

We're porting our mortgage too and it all seems quite straightforward. It's also my birthday on Friday and the only present I want is to exchange! Let's hope we get our birthday wishes.

Yes we are porting and borrowing more also, to be honest the mortgage application has been the smoothest part of the whole process 😂

Fingers crossed! Currently living like a box troll 🤣 although the cats love it! 

Our solicitor is sending our paperwork recorded delivery on Monday, for us to sign and send back the same. The owners hopefully are singing this week before one of them goes offshore for a week. Our solicitor already has our house payment, so I’m guessing once signatures are done it’s just payment and we can go! Our sol said it may be as soon as the 15th we are so excited! 

Just checking, as we are new, we have had quotes for Home Insurance, he said it would need to be in place for exchange. Could I set it up for the 15th incase it is sooner, and if it does turn out to be the 22nd it won’t matter if it’s been set up the week before?

@birdmadgirl8 I read it that they hope to move in before @HopeAndDriftWood exchange on their PURCHASE.

Me neither! He was messaging us last night to see if we'd talked about it. 

It wouldn't be "breaking the chain" as he phrased it, because the chain is ready... It'd just be moving out and renting here out to him before he's ready to exchange. Which is far too risky. 

The rest of the chain is literally ready to go now, so it's all on him. He needs his mortgage offer updating - the valuation is tomorrow - but as long as that goes fine, it's then just on his solicitor to sort enquiries. Then everyone is ready. I have no idea how that could take 4 - 6 weeks... 

The rest of the chain is ready and has contacted all solicitors/estate agents to say that they need it done by the middle of November or it can't happen. I'm hoping for October! 

I'm glad you think it's a bizarre request too 😅
