The NEW waiting to exchange thread...

Deja vu here. After being ready to exchange since late last week on our side and the seller’s side, we are still no nearer to actually doing so.
Apparently the seller’s solicitor has been ‘unavailable’ all day. This also happened with other parties’ solicitors when we were selling, so know that something is holding thing up.The seller wanted two weeks between exchange and completion and we have done everything to accommodate this and their chosen date for completion. They were pushing for exchange last week themselves so no idea what their solicitor is doing.
The EA has been chasing too but I’m conscious that the solicitors I am using will be closed for the rest of the week so if it doesn’t happen today or first thing tomorrow I don’t even know when it will.
Back to biting nails again and eating copious amounts of chocolate!Good luck to everyone else. When I calm down I will read everyone else’s progress, or lack of it!Thank goodness we all know what we the norm seems to be and have somewhere to vent and share experiences.0 -

It’s the stamp duty deadline in 16 days, and we’ll need to adjust our mortgage application, so it’s all starting to get a bit nail biting 😬😬😬 we are packing anyway, just hope we can get a date soon, and get a removal company, if there is availability. Is anyone else cutting it fine?
so need all paperwork to them to be signed by then. Even more nail biting than waiting 😬😬😬1 -

Feeling a bit deflated today.... Nearly 6 weeks since the very small chain was complete to be told that my vendors are only at the very early stages of their purchase and that their vendor passed away after the offer was accepted so now need to wait for probate...
Im staying with family at the moment after a break up and whilst I'm grateful for the savings I'm managing to make I really am looking forward to my own space again and it just seems so far away after todays news0 -
