So it looks like the final loose ends are hopefully being tied up this week. I did say to my solicitor that I didn’t want to pursue minor items that would hold up exchange as I can see that the solicitors would just be going back and forth with no resolution.

So we are finally starting to discuss exchange although still have to receive, sign and return the contract yet!

Good luck to everyone who seems so close now!
Oh fab news and sounds like you will beat some of us still here from your sale. Very exciting 😁
Thanks! I’m won’t get my hopes up too much as I think still slightly scarred from that but hoping you and the others get there soon and give me hope!

So today the entire chain was ready to exchange apart from my buyer (bottom of chain), whose solicitor said they haven't agreed the completion date for the 10th Sept.

I posted last week about how I spoke to my EA (Wednesday or Thursday, I think), who spoke to the buyer, who informally confirmed the 10th and agreed to email conveyancer as such. Well that never happened, I guess. So I chased it up with the EA again and they were so rude about it. Like, all I'm asking you is to give him a nudge to chase things up because nobody else is having any luck.

Feels like my buyer is having cold feet (or is terrible at communication, IDK). It certainly feels like moving on the 10th is going to fall apart and probably the entire sale. I'm so fed up that I barely even care at this point
12/03/21 - House put up for sale
05/04/21 - Offer accepted for sale of house
    10/04/21 - DIP approved
13/04/21 - Offer accepted on purchase of house
    28/04/21 - Mortgage application made
    30/04/21 - Mortgage offer received
    15/06/21 - Searches ordered
    28/06/21 - Searches received
    22/07/21 - Enquiries raised
    03/08/21 - Enquiries returned, 1 outstanding issue
19/08/21 - Enquiries on purchase satisfied. Ready to exchange
    08/09/21 - Exchanged
    10/09/21 - Due to complete

    Finally got an update...

Our solicitor is now on leave for personal reasons and a firm director will take over. Enquiries from our buyer have been responded to, and we're awaiting responses to our enquiries from our seller.

Our buyer is having his remortgaged property surveyed tomorrow, and then they'll book their survey for here.

They have, apparently, committed to being "keen" for a September completion.

My nerves are frayed. Someone have a wine for me, the pregnant non-alcohol stuff isn't cutting it 😂
Sounds positive if a partner has taken on the case 😁

if it’s any consolation, even the real alcohol stuff doesn’t quite cut it with the stresses of house buying….I would definitely recommend reaching for the chocolate 🍫 although my jeans may not agree 😂
So true! I can’t have the real alcohol stuff at the moment either but the chocolate is keeping me going too! 😋🍫

looks like it’s not today 😭😭 EA is telling me the sellers solicitor is pushing for today and my solicitor then tells me seller solicitor wants to complete tomorrow morning 😭😭😭 so cheesed off
    Ahhh mate !

Its gonna happen this week, Has to happen this week.

Pack, chill and get on the gin !
I feel like screaming to be honest, my solicitor can’t complete as she’s waiting on the cash statement  , I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ my solicitor have said she’s holding the funds so I’m hoping now tomorrow hurry’s up, but I bet u I will be in the same boat when something will go wrong 😑
Agree with this…definitely happening this week. Think of it as the first day of a new month tomorrow….and your first day owning your new home 🏡
Aww yes, this makes me feel a bit better, I’m making my way to bed in hope I fall asleep so tomorrow hurry’s up 😂
Fingers crossed it is tomorrow for you @ Cookie211 - you are so, so close now.

Our buyer text me at 5pm to say that his solicitor had told him they hadn't received confirmation from ours that the 10th September was OK. I emailed my solicitor thinking she would pick it up in the morning, but she was still there and forwarded me the emails between hers and the buyer's solicitor that clearly show them agreeing to the date. She is going to call first thing to try and arrange exchange as our buyer also told me their solicitor has a copy of their mortgage offer, so we could be finally getting somewhere. Provisionally booked removals and sorted the internet and Sky - hope it isn't jinxing things but I can't wfh without the internet and with 3 kids 7 and under the thought of trying to unpack without something to entertain them is horrid haha!
  • Well I have been trying to sleep but I have a rather naughty pup who is insisting on squeaking pig in my ear ...

Altho I can't sleep due to the face I am constantly thinking about packing and moving
