neydejean said:So today the entire chain was ready to exchange apart from my buyer (bottom of chain), whose solicitor said they haven't agreed the completion date for the 10th Sept.
I posted last week about how I spoke to my EA (Wednesday or Thursday, I think), who spoke to the buyer, who informally confirmed the 10th and agreed to email conveyancer as such. Well that never happened, I guess. So I chased it up with the EA again and they were so rude about it. Like, all I'm asking you is to give him a nudge to chase things up because nobody else is having any luck.
Feels like my buyer is having cold feet (or is terrible at communication, IDK). It certainly feels like moving on the 10th is going to fall apart and probably the entire sale. I'm so fed up that I barely even care at this point
It's so easy to read things into people's actions when you're hearing everything through someone else, so try not to make any assumptions (easier said than done, I know!)10th June - DIP submitted

Okay, going to need the good people of this thread to help settle a debate. We exchanged last week, and complete on Friday.
Last night, a cabinet hinge came off. Now, usually they snap right back on if this ever happens. However, half of the hinge is connected to a piece of wood that is in poor condition. The kitchen is original from when these flats were built over 15 years ago.
When I reattach it, if I tighten the first adjustment screw so that the door closes flush, it pops straight out again. Only way to have a the cabinet reattached, is to have it in such a way that the door sits open by about 1cm. It does open and close. This is how it is right now.
Is it acceptable to leave it like this?
Since accepting the offer, we have done some repainting, replaced the shower as the thermostatic cartridge was bust, and generally fixed other bits and pieces around the house to leave the place in as good a nick as possible. None of this was identified or asked for as part of the Level 3 survey he had done on the apartment.
(We are getting a handyman around this afternoon - but there's always a chance he might not be able to fix it in one visit, or before we leave).0 -
Still waiting for answers to our enquires... I really wish I wasn't told that the top of the chain want to complete within the next 3 weeks as I'm getting more and more anxious about it... and what it could mean if we don't achieve it?!0
