Last update was the vendors solicitors were ready for exchange but were contacting their onward purchase (final part of the chain) they said they would get back to me but since then I’ve heard nothing. They wanted to exchange today but the hours are running out! 🤦🏼‍♀️
Fingers crossed for u 🤞🤞🤞 I emailed my solicitor asking 2 questions and one was have we exchanged, she answered the other question but not the one about exchange 🤔
They have to get your permission before they exchange (unless they already have it?) 🤞
The solicitor asked on Monday would we be ok for completion this Friday and I said yes then asked to transfer funds over, I asked yesterday if she’s received all funds which she said yes I then asked does this mean we will have the keys Friday and she said that’s what she’s aiming for, nothing about exchange just completion, maybe it’s because it’s no chain and a empty house, I don’t know lol I’m a FTB and ain’t got a clue lol
Sounds like they may potentially do both exchange and completion on Friday if there’s only yourself and the vendor in the chain. Maybe email to ask if that’s what they are thinking of doing and then you won’t feel in limbo waiting for exchange? 😀 x

I feel your pain as this is our position too, although our buyers buyer has agreed to it, our buyers haven’t and aren’t ready 😠 it’s weird how 24 hours feels forever when waiting for confirmation! Hopefully you get some good news soon 🙏 x

You can ask them, I always do and at times I’ve agreed to drawing the funds down one day before completion to ensure they are definitely there (but I worry a lot that anything and everything can go wrong!) 😂 We had to pay an extra days interest but we were ok with that but You’re so far on now that the funds should have been requested and be in process for Friday. It’s funny how we stress over every aspect of buying a house, probably because it’s one of those processes in life that we can’t fully control. I’m sure it will be fine tho and your solicitor (unlike our buyers) sounds like she is on it 😁 x

I really hope your buyers sort themselves out, my solicitor said she was requesting fund Monday from Santander, should I email her tomorrow or Friday morning to see if mortgage funds have arrived to her x

Thank you 😊 let’s hope so!

I’m sure it will be fine but if you want to check with her, then do, nothing wrong with asking a question and I’m sure she will understand the need for reassurance as a FTB. I still need reassurance and this is my 4th time of buying & selling 😆 x

How exciting to hear about proposed completion dates! Both us and vendor are in a position to exchange and have agreed 16th September... now we just need to find out whether our buyer is ready to exchange and get them to agree on the same date  :/

Good luck to everyone hoping to end the week with news on exchanges 😁

Is it just me checking for updates from solicitor every hour?  :D
