So update on our "top" of the chain - apparently they're buying a residential property through a company, so there's more paperwork that they don't think will be ready for an August completion. Feeling pretty frustrated by that, because that hardly seems like they're the top of the chain in that case.10th June - DIP submitted

@E_D_FTB really sorry that things have slowed down for you, hopefully their purchase can catch up quickly. I completely feel your pain as we too thought our vendor was top of the chain but they are constantly telling us different things and whilst I am happy to wait until September I can’t help feeling we won’t make that date either! 😖 And to top it all off our buyers now want to come visit for yet another ‘measuring’ reason - this will be the 5th time! I can’t help but worry that something is going to go wrong 😬 x0

I really really don’t understand this system. Twice now we have been phoned to ask for our permission to exchange and now both times after that it turns out the bottom of the chain don’t have signed contracts. Our estate agents seems to think they haven’t even received the contracts let alone signed and returned them. Why would exchange keep on being attempted if this is the case?Tomorrow is the final day we can exchange to meet the completion deadline. After that our buyers are away so it will be a 2 week delay. I genuinely don’t understand how this can happen. I’m so angry and frustrated.0

@geostar37 - we aren’t at that point yet but in our previous sale/purchase we experienced something similar although it was for the insurance being ready on completion. The bottom of the chain kept saying they didn’t have time to sort it! That went on for days and we ended up exchanging literally the day before completion. I remember how stressful it was so really feel for you. Hope it gets sorted tomorrow x0

We’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to just get an exchange/completion date! They’ve had our funds for a while now and we’re still waiting.. there’s only so much chasing I can do when I believe it’s the other solicitors holding us up.0
