We're apparently all ready to go, solicitor emailed yesterday to say we should be able to exchange today but I've heard nothing so assuming that that won't be happening. We're completing on Friday, and there's only us and the seller involved with no chain so technically we could exchange and complete the same day, but I really just want to exchange now so that everything is set in stone 😂
I'm midway through packing, starting 4 days before we get the keys wasn't my smartest move, but we're in a teeny flat, so the stuff is limited by the space, the furniture isn't ours and I couldn't bear living among boxes for weeks on end. We've given ourselves a week overlap with the rent so that we don't have to rush out all in one go.
Just cannot wait to have those keys in my hand on Friday, it'll be 5 months exactly from when our offer was accepted, as first time buyers and a property without a chain I was not expecting it to take this long!!
Same, as in was meant to exchange today and complete Friday. Sellers solicitor will be back in office and says exchange will definitely be tomorrow, will believe it when it happens. Good luck!

Family and friends I’ve spoken to have said about threatening to pull out to try and get them back here sooner? Would this work? Or is this childish and we’ll end up losing the house!?
Please don’t make this threat unless you actually mean it.  It often causes untold anguish for those on the receiving end!  Trust me - my nerves are shot to bits at this point and my anxiety is at all time high, because of threats like this in our chain for a while now :(

    Please wish me luck tomorrow.
It supposed to be exchange day.
I just gave an overnight authority to exchange for tomorrow.

I’m working from 8.30-18.30 with only a short lunch break, and can’t have my phone on whilst I’m working.
So the solicitor said I can give authority tonight and he’ll leave me a voicemail tomorrow if it was successful.

Then moving day on the 21st.

We are almost ready to exchange but we still waiting for probate to be granted 😭😭 so have to wait 😭😭
  • Good luck to those getting somewhere.

im awaiting an EA update regarding our buyers solicitor.

Today our seller has got in touch as the person at the top is apparently threatening to put back on the market. We’ve not actually been slow - basically the house we are buying sold but after 2 months no mortgage offer etc their buyer was kicked to the curb!!

We then offered and it got accepted quickly at the end of may. Aside from two enquiries which are nearly done we are ready but our buyers solicitor has been slow!!
  • Best of luck to those exchanging imminently!

As far as we are aware, there are just a couple of outstanding enquiries at the bottom of the chain… or at least that was the case Thursday last week when we were given our most recent update.

I feel like my mental health is going downhill a bit :( I suffer as it is, but it’s been atrocious lately.  Just want to exchange and then can feel happier and start planning for the move with more certainty.

Good luck everyone,I hope we all hear something today 🤞🤞🤞
  • It’s not good here. The searches aren’t back and have no ETA. We fall under the same LA and our searches came back quickly so I’m hopeful. And fingers crossed that the top of the chain is bluffing.

good luck to everyone 😍 I’m with you on the anxiety front!

I'm burying myself in packing up the kitchen to avoid the anxiety, given all our food and crockery is all packed we can't not complete on Friday right??
Still waiting on the email to say we're exchanging, we've been ready to go since last week apparently, the sellers moving into rental, I don't know what the hold up is!!!
