Finally got hold of my sols - apparently they haven't received the contract pack (despite me being told they had on the 30th) so they've chased that up today, even though I asked on Friday as she said she had access to it - so no searches done yet and they're just reviewing my mortgage docs now, that was approved a month ago :wall:
The locum who was dealing with it is leaving on Friday so it's going back to the original sol who talks a billion miles an hour at me.
I really didn't think this part would be so hard or annoying - I was told the vendors wanted a quick sale but everything feels like its taking so long, and it's so hard to get updates on what is going on. And it's only been 8 weeks - and I know some of you have been waiting much longer but I really want to be in before Christmas and with 14 weeks to do it in I thought it would be fine.0 -
We've exchanged!!! House is worse than we remembered, wallpaper on the ceilings, there was a stairlift and the wall needs reparing... artex 😣😣😣 got someone lined up to skim it all for us. But other than that. We're still set for friday, our isa bonus has arrived and the bank is all set to release funds on thursday.
I might actually sleep tonight :beer:
Whoop - congrats on exchanging :beer:0 -
Congratulations Louizeg! :T :T
Fingers crossed for the rest of you. I confess my chasing has had VERY little effect on anyone - but in fairness the only person causing trouble in my chain is our lenderand there's only so much chasing and getting cross I want to do at the people lending us a large amount of dosh before they've signed to approve it...

No you won't. You'll be too excited
 no news from lender today on whether they'll accept an indemnity but the silence was killing me so asked my solicitor for an update on dates. My buyer is now insisting on 4 weeks between exchange and completion and has said she will not compromise on that. Seller is insisting we complete in 17th of this month! Seems to me our first time buyer holds all the cards. So annoying:mad:
But until our lender says yes nothing can be sorted anyway. Solicitor said she will ring them in the morning.0 -

Woohoo Louize!!
No exchange for me today. Vendors conveyancers didn't contact my sol and didn't answer her phone or emails.
I'm going to lie down in a darkened room0 -
No exchange today as predicted.
3 properties, 4 parties in chain. Me and our vendor, ready since the beginning of October and advised on 9th October that the bottom were ready. Lots of chasing of our annoying buyer and their rubbish EA, they were finally ready last week, however, bottom of the chain not ready afterall, the EA lied! Fantastic.
Supposed to all be ready today, bottom sols still not ready.
Furious!Officially in a clique of idiots0 -
Exchanged today! Completion 17th so almost 3 months exactly (offered in on 19 Aug) on a chain free leasehold flat...Can't believe that not only am I now a home owner but moving to a whole new town!! :-)0

We are meant to exchange and complete tomorrow! Our mortgage funds are with the solicitors, everything is ready, we just need to wait for the sellers solicitors to get the go ahead. Apparently they've "not heard from the sellers in several days"!!!0
