Got hold of my solicitors assistant who finally managed to find out our enquiries were sent two weeks ago by post (is that normal, thought it would be email), initially she just giggled and said she didn't know if they had been sent; very helpful. Now to call agents to make sure no spanners in works as I know they also wanted a quick sale. *Sigh*0

Well done to all that have managed to exchange and complete this week, and I'm really sorry to see the problems some of you are having 😢
We did manage to complete on Tuesday but of course it didn't go smoothly as our solicitor didn't receive our buyers funds until 4pm (apparently they were busy 🙄) well weren't we all!
Thank god ours and our vendors solicitors were on the ball but our completion wasn't confirmed until 4.45 and our poor sellers had to wait until 5.15 for confirmation from their vendors sol! It was touch and go right to the last minute! We were livid as we were almost left homeless with just the clothes we were wearing and all our stuff in a lorry miles away! We'd sent the driver home for a while as we were told at 1pm it wasnt going to be quick, but it should never have taken that long. If two other sets of solicitors can transfer funds and three sets confirm receipt in an hour why couldn't our buyers sol do it before 4pm?!
We left our old house at 2pm after an absolutely epic few days packing and cleaning and moving everything ourselves as we couldn't get removals, and went to my mums. Stress levels were through the roof! As soon as our buyers completed at 4pm they were on their way to the EA to pick up their keys, and they weren't even moving in! I had the keys though and wasn't going to make a special trip to drop them off after what their solicitor did and my phone going every five seconds 😂 so they had to wait for a bit.Thank god for our lorry driver who came back after the football bless him, rather than wait until the next day. And I'm so grateful for the friends and family who helped us unload, which we finally finished at 10pm. We were absolutely exhausted so literally just dumped everything, showered and crashed out. But, we made it! And I absolutely love it here, so much! It was just a shame it was a spoilt a little, and it was hard to get excited as our sellers were still here when we arrived 🙈We've been on this journey since September, and it's not been plain sailing. We had to start from scratch in March after losing our purchase and our original buyer in February. We also had a huge loss in the family in February, out of the blue, which has devastated the whole family and a sox week wait for the funeral. Oh, and I started a new job in March as well! So it's been quite a year.
But I am so happy here already that the stress has been worth it, so please, if you're having it tough, try and keep going. If I can, anyone can, and it'll be worth it in the end I promise. So many times I wanted to give up. Much love and luck to you all xx11 -

Small update
my buyers solicitor is happy with my answers to their latest enquiries ( FENSA certificate , roof water drainage , boiler service ).Estate agents said the solicitor is waiting to hear back from my buyers if they also happy as well. But if it all goes well we can exchange next Wednesday, the latest , and complete on the 21st.Fingers crossed they’ll happy and like my answers. They are first time buyers and have to transfer their deposit somewhere. But the estate agency said I don’t need to worry / know more about that.0 -
This 10 month saga seems never ending... finally the seller got in touch with their solicitor today and we've been told exchange can happen tomorrow but completion will not happen until next week - so my solicitor has to return the funds to the lender and re-request! Absolutely bonkers seeing as there is no onward chain and the property is vacant!!0

So I’ve had the keys a few days and I’m feeling overwhelmed. It’s literally disgusting. How could the sellers leave it in such a state. The garden looks like a HMO garden. Spent four hours building an ottoman bed today and that’s with all the cleaning honestly my back is in tatters.
Anyone got an deep cleaning tips? As much as I clean I don’t think it will ever be clean.DIP 09/02/21
