I'm currently on week 21 since my offer was accepted, I have no chain at all and no big problems came up, so I'm really feeling so much like groundhog day, every week passes without anything ever happening, even if I'm spending most of my working hours chasing left and right.2

1 June - Solicitors asked us for proof of funds for the money laundering. Everything sent back within 2 hours and said to expect a report back the following week (no explanation on what report that was)
8 June - EA phones to let us know that sellers have signed and returned contracts and want a completion date of the 25th June.
Our solicitor is now radio silent. No phone calls or emails answered. We have 0 indication of when to expect contracts, exchange or completion.
Do I work towards this date as a completion date? What would delay it except terrible solicitor? (We are 100% happy with this date) Notice needs to be given by the 20th for the month to month rental
I am so stressed, I am not sleeping and I cannot concentrate on work.Subject (property you are buying)

can't wait! I've got garden chairs I bought a month ago, still in the boxes, can't wait to put them to good use!

Got to love the new EA who's following the case! I spoke with him a few minutes ago and he also wrote the solicitor, which adds up to my 3 emails!
He's like can we proceed to exchange NOW?

Loving his attitude!I emailed my solicitor a short while ago and told her I'm a bag of nerves waiting to hear if we have exchanged today. She said that everyone has confirmed, they are just waiting on the top of the chains' solicitor to confirm. I'm toying with the idea of ringing the EA to ask them if they are chasing also..1 -
Anyone had any issues with proof of funds statements at the end?
I have sent my solicitor the most recent statement however my gifted deposit hadn’t reached my account by that time and the next statement isn’t due till the 11th of July. I had sent a transaction list for the transaction after the last statement. Is there anything else I can do?DIP 09/02/21

My solicitor replied by the way. She says she's waiting for the seller's solicitor to confirm we can exchange. Great, apart from the fact we were at this point a week ago, and according to the agent, the seller's solicitor is waiting for her to confirm! It's like children playing in the park: it's his fault, no it's her fault, no it's someone else's fault! I'm speechless. I would have assumed solicitors would know how to dial a number on a phone and talk to someone, rather than keeping waiting for each other's emails!!!!!!!!!!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Haha, yes, from what I gather there is a sort of formal legal 'dance', where they do things in a certain order by email or telephone, and if they fail they try again the next day. Meanwhile the purchasers are left to panic!

It really depends who you bank with. I have Barclays, and I found the service appalling, but this is what I was told to do when speaking with customer service: I had to go to my banking app, and go into the settings of the bank statements, and change the frequency from "monthly" to "weekly", so that they would be released only a week later. I still wasn't happy with this, because I needed them immediately, so the customer service person said they could request them to be printed, and I would receive them within 5 working days via post (they never arrived) and at the same time they would be generated 24 hours later in the app cloud. Weirdly enough, I discovered with my utter fury, that they meant 24 WORKING hours, so 3 days. Apparently they can't print them in branch, they can only order them. So in the end, I had to wait my 3 days, and finally download them.
If you bank with Monzo, on the other hand, your statement can be generated and be available at any time. So, after I complete, I will open an account with Monzo and move all of my bills and the payment of my salary over there.Hope you don't have Barclays! But definitely call them and cry on the phone so they get the urgency!
