Yikes, thanks bounty. Yes the guy said its just things taking so long, and that he'd be amazed if we completed before 2 so he was trying to save us some cash! His initial idea was to do 2 runs but realised that won't be a go-er in our long chain!

@Caz_Mnaz - glad they finally all agreed. Hope they can align and get you exchanged soon. Good that the end is in sight, and although your dad isn't still around to see it, I'm sure he'd still be pleased for you and cheerleading you on. You got this. :)
This might be my last chance to chat in here before the move tomorrow, but I will check back in soon and see how you're all getting on. Sending lots of fast progress and positive update vibes, and lots of luck all round. I am proof there is hope even after so long and even when the situation seems really dire, so stay positive and keep fighting the good fight, it will all be worth it in the end! See you on the other side!
Good luck for tomorrow Natbag, so happy you finally made it!  Hope you manage to have a bottle of something lovely when it's all done and dusted :) x

Yeah go with saving the cash, my poor friend was paying £50 wait time every half hour past a certain time. Also, she was up at 4am cleaning and then had to wait around the whole day panicked thinking it wasn’t going to happen (but it’s so common at the moment) then when she got the keys nearly at 6pm the house was a complete mess and disgustingly dirty. Really felt for her.
With our sale I was so surprised it took so long and I was taking out teas and coffees for our buyers removal men as they were out there hours waiting!

Morning all! Been awake since 5am, having struggled to get to sleep last night, so moving day today should be extra fun! Also urgh to late completions. We are lucky in that the vendors are handing over the keys, and they’ve said we can have the garage key at 10am, which means we can unload my boyfriend’s stuff, and go to my storage unit to start loading that if we are still waiting for completion. We have to empty both in the same day, so that’s an absolute godsend! I think we are fairly organised, just the van to collect and a last bit of cleaning to do. So excited to see inside our new house, we haven’t seen it since our original viewing on a rainy afternoon back in January. It seems like forever ago!
Thanks again for the kind words and support, and I hope everyone gets some positive news today. I’ll report back from the other side!

Oh you have lovely vendors!!! I know that feeling of it being so long ago since you have seen somewhere it’s been 6 months to the day for us 😩

I am sure it will all go well for you today and enjoy that glorious moment of putting YOUR key 🔑 in the door!

Anyone know when you HAVE to vacate? My removal company suggest not arriving until 11 and being done by 12.30....as we are the 4th transaction and they say if we're packed with up and out by 11 we might not get keys until 3 and that's a big wait (with a charge!)

Need to speak to my solicitor I think!
@Caz_Mnaz  It should have said in your contract, something like 1pm or 2pm. It’s standard wording from the contract, found this google image.

@naomibm sadly no one answered, so I couldn’t tell anyone I was happy to wait on the line. No wonder my solicitor is so slow, if at 16:30 on a Wednesday afternoon no one is replying to the phone anymore! I can’t show up at the or office, unfortunately, as it is a few hours away from where I live. I’m waiting until 9:30 then I’ll start calling again. I haven’t heard from my solicitor since last Thursday, despite my 4 emails and 2 calls, and the fact I had told her I wanted to exchange yesterday!
@Natbag and @Caz_Mnaz happy completion day! Hope everything goes smoothly!

Uggghh you are having a right time if it. If this were me I would be emailing one of the partners with

    Dear sirs,

I have been waiting a reply to my emails/calls of [insert dates] to confirm my transaction(s) to exchange this week.
Appreciate workloads are stretched, and I am not trying to be disruptive, but no reply to any communication is giving me stress and high level of anxiety at such a critical time.

    Many thanks
    yours faithfully
