Lovely to hear of exchanges and completions in-flight on here!
We are still waiting on the last two enquiries (a boiler cert and electrics cert for the garden office) to come back and then that's it according to my solicitor. It's been 4 weeks now since we asked for those however, and the EA is pretty much ignoring me now. It's all so frustrating and long winded!

    24/02/21 Looking for a property
    03/03/21 Offer made and accepted
04/03/21 Mortgage applied for through broker
    05/03/21 Solicitors instructed
10/03/21 Mortgage offer provided by lender
06/04/21 Drainage and local envirnoment searches back
01/04/21 Draft contract pack received by my solicitor, which they are working through...
12/04/21 Chased soliticor, told they are going through contract pack and will come back to me. All parties now have their contract packs, so progressing.
05/05/21 Enquiries received, two last questions asked of vendor. Chain seems OK according to EA

We are also waiting on a gas cert... I had a quick google and apparently it takes about 15 working days to get posted out... annoying!
  • @ZSC you can request this as a pdf online, it costs 6 quid ... I paid for it myself as I wanted to speed things up and it was the last outstanding item!

@Natbag thank you, hope so too! Good luck for your completion and move tomorrow!
@Josephgousto thank you, I’ve done the transfer now, the scariest moment of all! I’ve done it half hour ago and haven’t recovered yet! I’ve now written yet again to my solicitor to ask her for an update on the exchange and to ask her to confirm she got the money. If she doesn’t reply, I’ll call her again.

My purchase estate agent just called & believes the issues at the top of the chain are now all sorted, just waiting on solicitor to get in touch to confirm this, then can get back to (re)sorting completion dates 🤞

Oh really? Do you know how long it takes them to update the site? The last one on there was 2013, but I know they had another a couple of weeks ago.

Looks like we might be exchanging and completing on our empty, chain free property on 11th June.
Offer accepted 6th January. Mortgage obtained and solicitor appointed 25th January.
Other than all of the unnecessary delays we've encountered, it hasn't been too bad. Although I do feel I've conveyanced the entire process myself. :)

@Caz_Mnaz - glad they finally all agreed. Hope they can align and get you exchanged soon. Good that the end is in sight, and although your dad isn't still around to see it, I'm sure he'd still be pleased for you and cheerleading you on. You got this. :)
This might be my last chance to chat in here before the move tomorrow, but I will check back in soon and see how you're all getting on. Sending lots of fast progress and positive update vibes, and lots of luck all round. I am proof there is hope even after so long and even when the situation seems really dire, so stay positive and keep fighting the good fight, it will all be worth it in the end! See you on the other side!

Hi everyone, haven’t had time to catch up. Will read through when kids in bed this evening. Just a quick update - had an email in the last hour to say ready to complete when we are! I’ve put forward the 10th June (next Thursday) so hoping that’s enough time to request funds from Santander. Just waiting for the completion statement so we can send our deposit over too. Fingers crossed.
