  • So turns out the *real* reason our buyers pulled out was because their dad's friend suggested to them that this part of town has a "bit of a reputation". Not quite sure what to make of that, there are some stereotypes about this area, but it's not something we can do anything about so...oh well.

@amyr - great news! Hope you exchange soon. I feel the same, it's been almost 9 months for me, although officially 6.
@Justonemorecupoftea - sounds a bit fickle, but oh well, as you say you can't do much about that and hopefully the next buyer will love the property/area and not be swayed by idle gossip.

Top of chain now saying they can't possibly be ready for 28th and suggested 4th June. I couldn't give a toss as long as we lock in a date and exchange 😂

Bottom of chain now getting a damp survey doing.... Top of chain say its all off.... I'm just sitting in the corner rocking.... 😭
  • @Caz_Mnaz arrrgh! Nightmare! Why leave it this late?! Surely you commission everything pretty much at the start once the chain is formed, obviously if an issue is flagged you investigate, but sounds like there has been plenty of time... So sorry!

They missed it apparently 🤦‍♀️ I really hope the top are just venting their frustration and we can still exchange ASAP after it's done

We tried and failed to exchange today, a solicitor went AWOL.  Trying again tomorrow! 🤞 complete on Wednesday is the aim.

I'm glad some of you have had positive news and are looking to exchange soon as well but sorry some haven't.  This is a tough process!

Now to decide how soon is too soon to do final cleaning of bathrooms/oven etc 🤷‍♀️
