    We are at the stage to talk ACTUAL DATES. I still won't get excited until a date is written into signed and exchanged contracts though....

    Excellent our ea emailed this morning to say that she is chasing the upper chain, we are in a chain of 6, everybody is ready apart from 6 they just had enquiries to review had them for nearly two weeks so fingers crossed they are happy with them now. Ea said we are close hopefully. I hope everyone gets good news this week I think I might faint if we ever get the keys lol 😁

    Morning all, congrats to all those who have exchanged or are about to!
    I'm now into week 4 of waiting after signing our contracts, still waiting on the top of the chain to resolve that outstanding enquiry issue. My solicitor told me to chase her on Friday for an update, and as usual she didn't respond. Sigh. I'm just so stressed and fed up now, we are living in limbo and I can't see us ever exchanging. Any longer, and someone is going to threaten to pull out :(
    Property buying/selling timeline - currently into week 21
    04/12/20: Both properties listed for sale
    11/01/21: Offers accepted on both sales & on our joint purchase
     25/01/21: Identity checks completed, solicitors instructed
     27/01/21: Purchase survey & valuation complete, mortgage offer received 
     05/02/21: Reduction agreed on partner's sale (under-valuation) & on purchase. Mortgage offer amended
     08/02/21: Buyers pack returned to solicitor - sellers packs already returned
    26/02/21: Partner's sale contract signed
    10/03/21: Purchase searches all back
    16/03/21: My sale contract signed
    28/03/21: Purchase enquiries satisfied, Title Report & contracts issued, contracts signed & returned
    11/05/21: Still waiting on final enquiry in the adjoining chain to be resolved. Consent to break the chain granted, instruction to move to exchange given.
    17/05/21: All parties agreed to June 3rd for completion
    27/05/21: Exchanged on my sale only
    28/05/21: ALL EXCHANGED!
    03/06/21: Completion

    It's been weekly chasing of the agents, my vendors agent hates me as I dont let them fob me off, but I'm not there to be liked.
    I want honest and straightforward answers not their put off tactics.!

    Hello tink! What a nightmare journey you've had - must be great to hear that you're close to exchange, but I'm sure you must be holding your breath at this point. Good luck in return...and we're never, never, never doing this again either!

    We've been here before though before a collapse on day before previous exchange.... So hard to get too excited until we've crossed the line 😬

    Honestly, that's my waking nightmare. Dare not get excited either and have even stopped myself looking at pics of the house we're buying in case we jinx it. Your self-preservation tactics make sense to me!

    Sounding hopeful for you at least - good news for a Monday morning. Let's hope it gets better by Friday!

    It's so painful - after the long weekend wait I always hope that something positive will happen first thing on a Monday. It never does...or hasn't yet, so it's hard not to feel gloomy. Sending you some spring sunshine anyway Natbag and hope you get some good news this week.
