What is the reason for you asking, is it just the delay or another transaction is required?

I recently registered for the land registry property alert service and immediately got confirmation of a pending charge in the backlog (expected) via email - https://propertyalert.landregistry.gov.uk/propertyalert/

Unfortunately wait times for some application types are very long and that’s the case here. From a ‘worry’ perspective there’s nothing for your son to be concerned about. His purchase and ownership are protected.
It is very much a case of waiting until his solicitor confirms once registered
