  • IMMENSE relief the shittiest term is done with.

Then a big rush to a wedding.

Lovely wedding but am NEVER travelling that close to Christmas again.

Now am home. Instantly felt better. Dog is better (he was ill last week). I have no tree and no wrapped presents but all that will get done.

Thank you as ever for the highly rational advice. Since I wrote that post I have spoken to my two best mates who listened and let me cry, which was needed.

You are right when you say I shouldn't try to do everything at once. I am going to take an actual break for a few days after Christmas and just do what I feel.

Today I paid off my regular credit card and sorted out some plans money wise. You know cancelling payments, reorganising direct debits and standing orders. I have a few refunds to come back (4 in fact) so that should cover petrol for a fortnight or so.

Other than that I am literally doing nothing bar normal Christmas stuff.

thanks again guys. you are very right and it might take me a while but I must listen XXXXXX

  • Hello People :)

Hope you are having a good couple of days :)

I was ill yesterday which rather put a dampener on things, then Mum was ill today. Am assuming in all the rushing around we caught something. Yesterday I came very close to saying to Mum to leave so I could be ill at home but I didn't and today Mum went to bed (before dinner - not after she had eaten my cooking!) Cooking the dinner nearly killed me. But it was all cleared up by 4.30 and I had a nap so not all bad.
BIL did well yesterday, that was a relief. Everyone had a nice day I think and Mum especially loved her presents!

I am not doing anything tomorrow. I might do some fun stuff. But am not leaving the house. Apart from dog walking.

    I am drinking snowballls.......hic..........XXXXX

Glad it all went well apart from the illnesses. Hope you're both feeling better soon xx

My mum used to love snowballs - very retro :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I love them more than my mum does! And she got me started on them!

  • 1.15 and I have only eaten biscuits and drank tea and am now having a nap. So relaxed.

    XXX

Also my laptop is covered in glitter. Weird.

  • Really pleased that you're managing to squeeze some relaxation in there Buffy :D
  • I have now eaten turkey, cheese and crackers, watched a film called the Ninth Gate. And napped on and off.

I feel so differently then I did a week ago. It is bizarre. The relief of not being at work and dealing with a particular issue there is big. It is such a shame I have been happier in this job than any other but it is time to go. Too much bad stuff now!!

Having spoken to a few friends - who have a better handle on the situation with sis and BIL as they have been around for everything that has happened since Dad died I need to step back there.

Tomorrow I am going to the dentist. But lets not talk about that! am also braving the shops as have to buy my friend and her children their Christmas presents.

When I am back I may make a start on the conservatory and the goldfish. OR I might not!
