I'm betting if you put that in the description you'd get a premium.
yes, especially if it's something horrible, smelly and contagious like athlete's foot etc, that seems to up the price:rotfl:

I've also had the 'will it fit me' questions on clothes. One lady asked me just that and I replied with the measurements as already stated in the auction and she came back to me telling me that she had been to weightwatchers and lost a lot of weight so she still wasnt sure and what did I think, I started to get her entire life history after that, almost daily emails about getting to 24 stone and being bullied at uni and having to move back with her mum as she couldn't get a job as she couldn't do much without getting wheezy..in the end she emailed so many times she forgot to bid and thank heavens someone else bought it instead.

I've also had another loopy one win an item (clothes again..which is why I prefer not to sell them too often) and she wanted a full refund as it didn't fit. She mentioned it being several inches too small round the waist. I emailed back and said that as per the auction the waist was 32 inches and she came back to say that was about 8 inches smaller than her waist. I thought I was rather patient as I emailed again and asked her why she bid on a size 14 with a 32 inch waist if she was actually several sizes larger, and she said it was because she assumed my auction was wrong as she was definitely a size 14 with a 40 inch waist as her mother told her she was a slim 14 and so when would she get her refund?
that's what the celebs stylist's do isnt' it?!:D

i'm always getting the 'will it fit me' along with 'how long will it take to arrive' and 'will it suit my auntie'

i find that, as the ladies sizes get bigger, the customer gets nicer. i find that, when a size 6, 8 or 10 lady buys something in her correct size and it doesn't quite fit, it's always, always my fault, and i have swizzed her by swapping the size labels  they are always really, really angry and want a refund THIS INSTANT because they ARE a size 6/8/10, and NOT ANY BIGGER THAN THAT, are you saying i'm fat.....

i love it when they want the refund before they've sent me the item back. as if you would go back to next/bhs/primark/dolce & gabbanna/your local flea market - and say "i'm returning this as it's wrong and it's all your fault. i haven't actually brought the item back with me - give me the money now and i'll bring the thing back next week" yea, righto....

i prefer the foot/underwear fetishists to those really angry women: the pervs are always polite, in a way!

oh, and i love it when people think "i want to make a best offer, but if i leave it until the last 30 seconds, she will accept any old stupid price" then they make an offer that's less than what i paid for it wholesale. then it all doesnt matter anyway, because i'm not at the computer at that moment the auction ends. result: nobody's happy.

Or the 'I can buy it cheaper in the shops' Reply usually starts 'Do you know what I'd do then ...'

The funniest ebay story I've read on here was this one:-

Buyer bought a bus, paid in cash, drove it then brought it back

thats got to be the best ever ebay story!

my 3 little ones are pathetic in comparison.
one buyer gave me pos FB straight after paying via paypal!
a seller sent me a CD before me paying her.
then there was the buyer who never ever collected their item, so i disposed of it.
    (and i got paid).
    Get some gorm.
  • Oh yeah, i just remembered, i bought a pair of fancy dress wings and sent off the cheque.... cheque never cleared but recieved item anyway.... then cheque turns up in a letter to me from the bank somehow! The seller hadnt filled in their details correctly or something, well they never asked me to re-send so their loss!

And someone this week asked if i could send her daughter a coat and how would she go about buying one...... click the button love. Bless her

I was asked if I would wear the new underwear set I was selling and send it unlaundered!

OMG! LOL, this happened to me! After I was pregnant, I was selling some of my maternity stuff and the underwear I was selling I had never worn. However, the "potential" buyer emailed me and asked if it would be possible to wear them before I sent them should he win the bid. i emailed back and asked why and he said, and I quote "Because I like things that have been close to a lady"

I actually made me feel sick at the time!
  • Colleague of mine bought a toy car for her son on Ebay. Thought, "That's really cheap for postage" but could see him pedalling around the garden in it, and thought it really worth payign quite a bit of cash for.

Anyhow, the card turned up for her to collect it from the PO. So, she emptied the boot, told her son that they were going to get his toy cart for the back garden..............................then the guy in the sorting office brought out a tiny wee package. Yup, she'd bought one for a doll's house!!! In retrospect if you look at the picture of the item on ebay, you can actually see that the skirting board is bigger than it!!

Another mate of mine bought a lovely pair of size 7 adidas trainers. 'cept they were a child's size 7!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

My experience probably ranks as a great one for me but a poor one for the seller.
It was back when I was a student a few years ago. I saw a seller with 0 feedback who'd listed "The Simpsons Season 1 - 14 and the Tracey Ullman Show Shorts", start price £2. I thought that an amazing bargain so bid £2. Amazingly nobody else bid so I got them for £2. The seller had feedback of 0 so might have been why nobody else bid. The seller charged £5 postage so off went my paypal payment of £7.
When they arrived they were on 96 discs and had cost £8.50 to post.
So on my payment of £7 the seller had lost £1.50 plus the ebay fees, plus the original costs of the discs.
Looking back I kind of feel guilty but it certainly taught me a lesson, which is always weigh your items before you tell people how much postage will cost!
I hope the seller went on to earn a fortune on later items! And I've still got all those episodes which have had a lot of use over the years, probably my best ever ebay bargain!
