Hope everyone is ok or as well as can be and the poorlies are recovering.

I was off list Friday putting as much as I couldback to how it should be. Saturday saw a big charity shop run followed by taking the boiler and copper piping to the scrap yard sand getting £85 for it! No wonder scrap men kept knocking for it when the gas van was here!
In the afternoon I went to a glass fusing workshop with two of my dds, we were making seaside themed panels, it was lovely fun.
Had a call from ds1 this morning he's in a muddy field waiting for tomorrow so he can get a bus home festival was a farce and has now been cancelled glad he got to see frank turner as it seemed like most acts got pulled.
Ds1 went down really well at his festival and got more fans so he's happy and the weather held off for hi. Plus it was local so he didn't have to sleep out.
Currently playing with wool as dd3 wants boleros knitting for the little bridesmaids incase its cold.

Will try and keep on list next week.

And yes, it's raining again. Just for a change! Not sure what happened here overnight, but I had to spend some time cutting up my poor buddleia which toppled over in the wind. I didn't realise it was that wild in the night.

    Welcome back PB :hello:

ATB - we are also Y0rksh1re T fans, but I might give the L!dl ones a try if you reckon they are up to the mark. Thank you for the tip....whoops, no pun intended!

I managed a short run this morning, then my DSis called by for coffee. DH has been with FiL all day, so he will need a stiff drink when he gets back! DD off camping next week, so I'm looking forward to the muddy washing when she gets back already. WM x 1 run and might get dry at some point, HHI done, HH paperwork. I've sorted out the papers for my tax return, but I haven't had the enthusiasm to actually do it yet. I might make it my MAD for next week. I also must sort out a couple of birthday presents for early August. Sorted the cards, forgot the presents

Been to town, got DD euros (good deal) because DS's GF works at the shop. Then spent a £5 off a £20 spend voucher plus the £4.10 I had left on a gift card on a sale nightshirt (I only had 2) and a new garlic press because my painted one had flaky paint and was leaving sinister grey marks on the garlic. It's already been used as I got chicken thighs YS in Tesco (2 packs) and am marinating them for SW BBQ chicken - so 6 meals for me there!
AND *TRA LAAAA* I have found the missing B&Q receipt which I had put in a safe place - but a different safe place - so now I can get a refund! I'd put in in the key bowl *shrug*
have my August cards so now need to write...

I have come home from work and dusted my room and the landing, stripped and changed my bed, S&S the bathroom and vacuumed upstairs before getting a shower. I dusted the living room and hall, S&S the kitchen, cleaned the glass topped table, front of microwave and fridge freezer while the pasta for my sausage pasta tea was cooking. All I have to do tomorrow is vacuum downstairs and the sofas and any extras that are on the list whatever it will be :D

Tea now eaten and I'm relaxing in front of a disaster film - I love all disaster films even the unbelievable ones :rotfl:

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and found some time to do something for themselves during it :smileyhea

Ooh Sunny I love a good disaster movie, as far fetched as you like. We watched the Posieden Adventure not that long ago!

Been out on bikes for 2.5 hrs. Rain, then wind, then Sun. Blew the cobwebs away. Oh and stopped at a posh tea shop. Miserable waitress, rock hard cake and a wonky picnic table. I was in danger of a fit of giggles.

Feet up now, everyone fed, kitchen tidyish. Need to meal plan but I hate mealplanning!.

YorkshireLass I'm on The Day After Tomorrow on E4+1 :) My favourite is Dante's Peak - great story and the delectable Pierce Brosnan helps :D

Oh and thanks atband others, I am making plans to change things for the better around here, you will here more soon xx
  • Not heard from Himself since he said he was on the ferry. How long does it take to get from Calais to London?

I'm wondering whether he's fallen asleep and they've just left him in the van. Or he got dropped off somewhere relatively nearby, caught the train and now is peacefully slumbering [strike]snoring his head off[/strike] heading for the coast again.

I'm hungry. The table, suitably reclaimed with a jam jar of flowers and some garden twine (go me, it's all hipster here) and a tealight, is waiting for my dinner. And his, of course. It's stuff that needs to be cooked and served fresh, so I can't very well make it in advance and leave him to stick it in the microwave. If nowt else, because I don't trust him not to get food splatters all over the inside again. And he'll probably decide halfway through microwaving it that's he's too tired and waste it.

Bleached the kitchen counter whilst waiting. It didn't need it. And did a load of washing, hanging it up on the clothes horse in front of the shower room door. We've got two bathrooms, it's better than blocking the entire kitchen with it like he does. And why is my hot water, usually very low pressure, now only coming out in a trickle?

And why has the Idiot Cat chosen Right Now to jump on the table when he has simply glared at it with suspicion through the bannisters since I put the oilcloth on?

I suspect I might be over hungry. As I'm vaguely irritated by everything but CBA to do anything about it, least of all cook without a good reason to. Is that a thing?

Major food prep done. My fridge looks all ready for the week. WM on and DW about to go on.

Other than that I've been tidying because I didn't have to clean. I really hope she turns up on Tuesday:D

I'm going to do one room every evening this week. DH won't recognise the place next Sunday.

In addition I've done my German, VB and Excel studies. Read the beginning of my 'Career change' book and done the tasks. Now I'm going to read a bit more of 'The Artists Way'.

Then I'm having an early night with no worries about being woken up by DH coming to bed.

    OH. My oven is sparkling:rotfl:

All ironing done. 12 Chicken thighs marinating in fridge on a just-washed glass shelf (in a container). Am trying to decide which oven to cook them in - might not be my newly-cleaned fan oven lol
Trying to update my siggy; now going to add the other BT card I have which ends before my new one; so shall focus on that first, now.

Am watching The Day After Tomorrow too. We like The Core, and Deep Impact and Armageddon and Volcano...I cannot watch horror so this is as close as I get lol

Lucy is on next. Apparently we think that a good film too.
