Valli If one more inappropriate question re my hubby's death, a death certificate or why he isn't supporting DS2 I will definitely contact my MP. He's new and I follow him on Twitter so he'll hopefully keen to help. Thank you to anyone else who said lovely caring things and if I've forgotten you I apologise but I can't remember any more and am on my phone so it's more difficult to scroll about lol xx0

Morning all,
Sunny here :T hope it lasts! DH is working all weekend but thankfully he has next week off and we have some nice days out planned.
DS is being a monkey and refusing to eat his breakfast  I am not negotiating with a 3 year old so it's been cleared away. We need to nip to Aldi this morning and run a couple of errands. Just seen Moana premieres on Sky Movies today so will watch that at some point.
Flying wise - laundry, laundry and more laundry to do. First things first though, cuppa and sausage sandwich. Have fab days all xxMFW

Very true atb - completely pointless negotiating with a 3 year old. Same as a teenager really.
DS1 is wandering about claiming that he is dying but he managed to take his gf to the pictures and eat a KFC last night so I suspect he will live a little bit longer. I am developing a sore throat, so am joiningLW and blaming Bossy.
No idea what today brings. I am doing a very long bike ride in 6 weeks and really need to be out there training but I dont feel too enthusiastic. Going to get some washing in first and check online banking.0 -

YL if you have a free day sweetie REST! Listen to your body, this sore throat is telling you to have some down time. Everything else can wait xxMFW

Morning all
Need to clean the gunk out of the oven but it hasn't fully shifted the burnt-on puddle in the centre so I just scraped at it with a knife while the kettle was boiling. Hopefully that will reduce it. It's been there a long time, and has firmly resisted all previous attempts to shift it. Now back in bed with a coffee. First job is an ebay sale *fling* though not mine, this one is for work. (Making a bit for the school fund).
Have also got another sale imminent, one of DS's law books! Woot! Just got to stealthily creep into DS's room where my crate of packaging lives.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
My list for Aldi is huge and we only had a shop delivered on Thursday! First week of school holidays and my bill has definitely doubled - we must have spent over £125 this week easily on food. We've spent at least £40 on fresh fruit this week - punnets of raspberries, strawberries and blueberries are devoured the same day here.
Is this ridiculous? Family of 4, plus a cat and a dog. Including all toiletries, cleaning stuff and some (but not loads) of alcohol. Would love to know what other flyladies grocery budgets are xMFW

Still sitting here in my jim jams (taking your advice atb)
One of the things that I had to do when DS was poorly and I took some time off work was reduce our food shopping bill. I found that I could save a lot of money just by planning better so I started mealplanning and only buying what I actually needed. I also had to start saying to myself that there were certain things that I couldnt afford to buy which was hard.
Now finances are a little easier I still mealplan and still try to stick to the same rules. I know that I can feed the 4 of us for £75 a week but often go slightly over this. I rarely buy blueberries, raspberries and the like - I know they are healthy but so expensive for what you get. We mostly eat bananas, apples, oranges, pears and pineapples.
Cooking from scratch really is the cheapest way - which again is hard when you have got a busy life but I love my slow cooker and use it several times a week.
Right best move myself really, havent heard from DS2 since about 11am yesterday - have a feeling he is going to need collecting from his girlfriends sometime soon.0 -
Thanks YL xx I buy all the berries etc because we all know how hard it can be to get littlies to eat their 5 a day but my two adore berries so it's so easy.
I think I need to start afresh in August and write down every food spend and analyse my receipts. I know I could downbrand cleaning products (always use Ecover) and washing stuff (Fairy) - need to make the change.
Right I'll naff off now :rotfl: have good days all xxMFW

Morning. Just crawled back into bed with a cuppa. Prepped a lamb tagine as I've been up since 5am with the dogs
Everyone else given a hot drink with instructions to start their days soon.
ATB - I regularly try to reduce my food bill but it is next to impossible with four kids, three huge dogs, a cat and a large DH. I easily spend £100 a week and definitely more during holidays and that is with meal planning and non-brand products. I'm hoping to be able to grow fruit and veg next year once the work on the house has settled down. My step son can eat an entire chicken on his own, so I always have to cook two, plus sausages when he's here! I have deboned a whole lamb leg, six chump chops and used a lamb neck fillet for our tagine tonight. Will need a tonne of couscous, at least three flatbreads plus a pudding to fill everyone up.
Best get back up....0 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
This morning I have done the dailies, cleaned up after a sick Littleydog twice, bathed her, made a pie for dinner tonight and been for a run. Only managed a mile. Goodness knows how I'm going to run 10k next weekend.
I need to clean my car and do some gardening but I've lost my get up and go after a rubbish day at work yesterday. I am planning my revenge/strategy which must be done but is draining.
So I will read the paper next.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0
