Furniture Dents in Carpets

Been reading in my mums good housekeeping that if your furniture leaves those dents in your carpet then instead of buying those expensive guards, use ice.

When you move the furniture rub ice in the dent and it apparently brings it up like new with a bit of a brush

HTH someone :)

According to Kim and Aggie ( ;) ) leaving ice to melt on the dented areas, then taking a toothpick or something similar to fluff up the pile.

I have tried this, and it definitely does help - I use a metal skewer to fluff it up.

    Hi people,

I have been moving our furniture round in the living room and it looks much better, except there are some deep marks left in the carpet where the sofas etc used to be. Has anyone got any tips on how I might get the carpet to raise again in these places so its not so noticeable?

    Thanks, Sarah.

Place an ice cube in indentations and let it melt slowly then dab gently.

Wow Elona that was super quick, thanks I will try it. Should I let the whole ice cube melt in the indentation or just a little bit of it?
