Anyhoo. Whilst on a rare trip to M&S, I got slightly carried away with the prospect of a new, bigger suitcase. But my lovely husband, who really wasn't into MKing at the start, said no, we didn't need to take anymore stuff with us, our current suitcase arrangements were fine.
So proud of him....:A

Having lost our suitcase on a flight to Italy this summer, if you can manage with just cabin bags I would. It quite spoilt our many-years-saved-for holiday0 -
So ive kondoed lots of money in sainsburys in their toy sale.not going to keep them all but bought so i could show hubby rather than not buy show pics and when i get to go its gone.but just realised i have no where to hide anything!!! We dont have much storage its a bungalow so there is no internal storage.eeek!!! We just have clothes wardrobes and they have suitcases in on the bottom and weights so no space there!!! Cant leave in car as i pick them up!! Erm!!!
Had a break through moment for me on Monday i used things thats i thought were precious and had been hidden in wardrobe but i dont feel about using them now :-) it was two note pads i like but dont want to use because they were new.silly but big moment for me!!
Bit lost today got work tomorrow so this is my last chance to make a difference for a while.what to do what to do?!!!
There is lots of other stuff to sort too like mortgage and other paperwork hard to prioritise as i wont be able to do them properly as everything isnt in order as she says.also havent studied yet and my course started on 7th. Only have 4hours to my self!!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0 -
I KM'd last year after clearing my mums house. I knew I stalled on paperwork but hadn't realised just how much I had left to do.
This weekend we had to empty the 3 drawer filing cabinet so I am now going through the papers before I put them back.
Bearing in mind I thought I had already gone through the filing cabinet I am amazed to find paperwork from 24 year ago in connection with child benefit / maintenance / tax credits along with
Bank accounts I had closed in 2005
Up to now I have only put one sling file back which has stuff for the car and filled the paper recycling bin with shredded stuff
It really has brought home how important it is to take everything out before you start0 -
Just Kondoed this morning with posting ads on various websites for 'stuff' in the forlorn hope that my 'toot' may be someones treasure and sourcing some spares for DH beloved trike. Please don't mention the list as it 's growing faster than I can get the jobs doneSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Finally, finally my set of Encyclopaedia Britannica (all 33 volumes which took up a complete bookcase) have left the house:T:T. Picked up this morning, I was so pleased to wave goodbye to them. Then over to dentist where I kondoed over £100 for 2 checkups and hygenist, and picked up an appointment, and an estimate of nearly £240 for 3 fillings :eek:
Then round to CS with a car packed nearly to the roof, and offloaded most stuff into their store, smaller stuff into shop itself. I used about 15 giftaid stickers, and I'm going again Friday. I'm going up to stare at all the space in my attic tomorrow, after I've been out to rectify the space in my fridge and breadbin. It's just been decluttering this time, but I can now do the Kondo method, with less stuff and more space. Isn't it great seeing walls and floors again as stuff goes away. Don't get discouraged folks, it may take a time, but it does work.
I sorted out a huge box of books two weeks ago - I had forgotten about them. Inside were my Encyclopaedia’s . Can I ask if you offered your ones for sale or on a Freecycle site or similar please? I have put mine back in the box not knowing what to do and too many memories of reading them (!) to simply throw them away. Many thanks.0 -
Hi Lara I offered them on Freecycle, the CS didn't want them, although I usually take other books there. Because the encyclopaedias were quite old, and I'd bought them in a library sale for a fiver I felt they had done their turn. The man who took them was home schooling so they suited him fine. It's sometimes hard to get rid of them round here, perhaps it will be easier for you.0

Kondo'ing more money. The chap came this morning and drilled some drainage holes for our patio door. We thought that had solved the problem, but in the stair rod rain this afternoon it's coming in somewhere. We'll have to bite the bullet and have it replaced. The two chaps who came yesterday both said they would be looking at end of November at the earliest before they could do it. The new flooring goes in tomorrow, we'll have to get them to leave it loose by the door so we can roll it back until the doors are replaced. £85 for 4 holes..... we could have done it ourselves but we'd still have called somebody in when we couldn't sort it.
Next up the plumber comes to finish off some jobs and discovers the seized kitchen tap won't loosen off, so down to B&Q for a new tap.
So many water related problems. I sent samples off to test for Legionnaires, I hope that doesn't come back positive, it'll be the icing on the cake.Make £2025 in 2025
