Got rid of our tropical fish plus tank today - to a neighbour. Both parties delighted and after 10 years of having a fish tank am so glad it's gone. We can now redecorate the sitting room which it is badly in need of.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

À lovely freegle lady took away the cabinet gas heater and also bought the 2 15kg cylinders that I was about to advertise for a very low price a) to get rid of them and b) hopefully to do someone a good turn, so 3 bulky items have left the house and a wee bit more money into my slush fund which I am saving to "have my colours" done. It i s quite expensive and not a priority, but I think it might enable me to let go of clothes that I love which look OK on me, but perhaps do not make me look and feel great IYSWIM:D
Maddie I had mine done about 25 years ago -worth every penny! I know what colours suit me so don't end up buying something in a sale that isnt 'me' Anything I buy goes with at least three other things I own so plenty of variation. A friend who had hers done just after me DH told her it was worth every penny just to see her walk past 75% of M&S clothes to find 'her' colours! I also got a book from the library by Carol Jackson of Colour me Beautiful on the body shapes - very illuminating and worth a look.
Maddie - glad you are on the mend - even if slowly
I'm going to try to get a load of photographs done this week as I've got loads of 'stuff' that may turn a few pennies - if not it will go to a variety of CS.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Not kondoing as such but family came round for lunch and moved my garden swing seat, tables and chairs into the garage as they had heard about the hurricane that is due.
A charity bag came through the door and will be collected on Tuesday so might put in some pairs of shoes that have only been worn once and are still in boxes."This site is addictive!"

:jFeeling tired tonight. Been sorting the mahoosive hut to get the garden furniture in, this meant lots of tip runs then we ended up in the attic so more stuff away to tip and charity. We have about 30 things on the bay so hoping for a bit more cash coming in the way. Feels lovely to see floorboards when you go up the attic now cos between our stuff, stuff left from when it was my grandma and grandas house then stuff brought in when we cleared the inlaws house it was getting quite depressing venturing up there. When we got a new skylight in fir our bathroom sadly the builder (my uncle who in all other ways is a perfectionist) seemed to have a field day chucking boxes about, flinging manky old insulation on top of stuff and leaving bits of the new insulation around. I asked Mr daisy if we were doing this Swedish death clean thing and, once I explained, I think we sort of are. Somehow it's easier getting rid of stuff now that 20 years ago you could not have prised outa my hands. But 20 years ago I wouldn't have been so tired after a weekend of running up and down attic ladders etc :rotfl:
Well done everyone

Whoop! Whoop! All xmas pressnt stash located under bed, listed and allocated to intended recipients. Had a couple of good ideas and so swapped a few things between folks
Found a present that was bought in Jan sales 2015 but forgotten aboutA selection of body lotions. Not prepared to give 2 y.o. stuff like that so will use a few drops at a time as bin freshener:)
Also did a stock-take of small cupboard where multi buys of ambient stuff are stashed. Stopped DH buying more chocolate drink as he already had some.
Finally we hung the new clock....... we spent AGES looking for one we liked, that suited our room and was not too big. We bought one that resembles an over-sized pocket watch, it even hangs on a chain. So it is now hanging on the face of our stone inglenook fireplaceIt is sparking much joy!!

As part of our post (though still tinkering at it) Kondo, as much (little?) minimalism as I can get away with, sort of way of being, we travel with as little luggage as possible. We tend to take 1 cabin sized wheely case per person, for a 2 week trip.
Anyhoo. Whilst on a rare trip to M&S, I got slightly carried away with the prospect of a new, bigger suitcase. But my lovely husband, who really wasn't into MKing at the start, said no, we didn't need to take anymore stuff with us, our current suitcase arrangements were fine.
So proud of him....:A

That's a great result catshark.
Gentle hugs to maddiemay glad to hear you are healing well.
Hugs to Charly, sorry to hear of your loss.
Minnie, hope the bedroom is going well.
Only plodding since last Sunday as other things have to be done to meet deadlines. Plodding is good though - things are slowly leaving. A charity bag has been started this morning, some DVDs went to a friend on Thursday and will take some to another friend this week.
Took the bull by the horns and bought frozen ready meals for the next 2 weeks - not healthy or MSE but it has taken some pressure off me and my minimal energy levels (not having to plan, cook and wash up) and I've found it so much easier to focus on what needs to be done.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Doing a lot of prep today. Contacted local hospice to donate my dining room table and chairs - they're coming to have a look next Wednesday. Do hope it will be suitable for them to sell. Did a load of photos for Fleabay and got quite a few items posted on there.
Just had to kondo some more money on my carmy rear brake lights gave up, couldn't have been something simple like a fuse could it? No, but did manage to get a couple of 'preloved' units for £90 the pair instead of £300 :eek: for new. Think I need to have a lie down now
