Good morning
A lovely morning, washing out already and we are off to the supermarket later. I had my Te*co vouchers come in the post the other day, so what I want to do is spend those on stocking up essentials in the store cupboard (formerly known as the coal house) remember those.
I had a good sort out the other day, to my shame some tins were well past their sell by date, so those were disposed of, I found some things which were well in date, but that I didn't think I would use, so will drop those in the food bank box at the supermarket.
TA when you have been decorated and possibly a new carpet, that will lighten your mood slightly. We did quite a bit of decorating in the spring because the house looked really tired. Unfortunately it takes us so much longer because we can't do as much in one go, and then usually have a day off in between. I said to Himself if it takes us a month to do so be it, we were in no hurry. I wouldn't have said that when we were younger, I used to go through the house like a dose of salts (like a whirlwind).
Elona, any sign of that baby yet? It strikes me she is going to be a very laid back young lady when she does arrive, and thinking of your poor DD in this heat.
Have a good day all xx0 -
CANDLELIGHT It will be the first time we have actually had to resort to getting someone in to decorate and it hits hard when we always did it all ourselves but, these days, that's out. There's no way Mr TA could tackle it as he is and it's too much for me on my own. I had the bright idea of decorating the bedroom on my own last year and afterwards I vowed never again!
It's actually DD's lovely chap who is doing it but I insisted we didn't want a mates rates spare time job! It's not fair when it's his trade and he already has too many spongers expecting him to do jobs for next to nothing! So, under sufferance, he has booked us in for 2 weeks next month and we will pay the going rate! He's good at his job and a hard worker so much in demand.
I am in messing about mode this morning so time to shut the laptop I think and get on with some jobs! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all from a cold, grey, drizzly Scotland. What a pity we can't exchange some warmth as I'm sure we could all reach a happy medium with some trading:)
I'm having a quick coffee between phone calls as I'm working from home today. To be honest I'm procrastinating over a nasty task relating to finances which I need to do. I've told myself it must be done by lunchtime!
I do need to feed my feathered friends before I have the coffee though. The outside kitchen window ledge seems to be home to at least 10 young sparrows at the moment, all of whom are chirping loudly so I think they are trying to tell me something. It's amazing how much a tiny creature can guilt trip me into going out in the rain to fill up a feeder:D
I may be back later - once the dreaded finance job is done of course!0 -
TA, actually I said when we finished decorating, never again.
As well as doing a lot of it myself I was also watching Himself going up and down step ladders, and worrying whether he might slip. We are too old to be doing it ourselves now, it is enough for us to keep the gardens tidy. We have a long back garden with a lot of mature shrubs and trees which of course need pruning and taming.
At least you know your decorator, it isn't as though you have a stranger working in your home, and you said he made a good job of your kitchen xx0 -
Evening, just back home after running up to Nell and back today to take some tools they need, the house is getting a good doing up and so is the garden. Good runs both ways but we're both tired now and I'm not long before bed. Nice to see Nell and James so happy together, they're both level tempered and kind, they'll do well!0

Morning lovely people. Mr TA and the 3 DGDs are all still in their beds so a peaceful start here - for now! I have been pottering on with quiet jobs so as not to waken them all up. Wm loaded up and quietly doing it's job. DW emptied from last night and refilled with the overflow that got left in the sink (too tired last night!) and generally tidied round. It's very warm but rather dull but I am hopeful the washing will dry outside.
The usual Friday Tidy will be postponed until tomorrow!
Have a nice day xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Boy, it’s already so hot here and forecasted to go over 30 degrees this afternoon. We are due to go and visit DSIL in the hospital, at least it means spending time in an air conditioned car
Have been plagued with bad sinus headaches over the last couple of days, have my Olbas oil inhalation stick and my head swipey thing but nothing seems to be helping, it’s probably got something to do with the dry, dusty conditions but wish it would toddle off and leave me alone!
Hope you got the dreaded finance job completed SM.
Good idea on the postponement of Friday clean TA.
Hope you got a good nights sleep Lyn, had to smile at your description of how well matched in temperament Nell and James are as could well be describing myself and Capt S. My ex was a very volatile man, quick to temper and my homelife seemed to be one long running drama, living with my darling man is much, much easier. Like a calm sea after being in choppy waters!
Love to all and have a good Friday x0 -
Yes Lainey, just like that and they only have to be in a room together to feel how contented they are, it's almost palpable! Dear James is still in shock but so very happy and Nell, well, she's still pinching herself every day when she wakes up to see if it's actually real!0

Hello,
Well it is very humid here, no sun but hot and humid. I stripped the bed this morning, washed the linen, put outside and remade the bed. I then put another wash on of towels and bath mat. I will bring all of it in shortly.
I woke up about 3.30 am to find Himself wasn't in bed, so went downstairs,he was asleep on the sofa. He is supposed to tell me if he is going downstairs in the night because I don't know whether he is ill or not. He said he didn't want to wake me.
TA, I am so sorry the follow up appointment has come so quickly, you must be worried sick. There isn't anything I can say to make it easier for you, but just know everyone of us here is thinking about you both and I am sure candles will be lit this evening, definitely at Candlelight Towers. The girls know their Grandad isn't well, so they know how to behave when you look upset, they have been brought up well. Much love to you both, PM me if you want to talk.
Lainey I hope the sinus improve soon, but until the weather changes I fear it won't. Everywhere is so hot and dusty in the garden.
Lyn you must be so thrilled that Nell seems to have found her soulmate, they sound to be very happy and contented.
SM I hope you sorted the financial problem.
No other news here, so take care all and hugs to TA and Mr TA xx0 -
Please stop the world I want to get off just for a little while, removals problems are no fun at all and it's too hot to go out at 33 degrees out there still so all I can do is read or be here!0
