Wondrcollie, that is a good age but there is never a good age to face losing them, is there. I love to hear of old pets being cossetted and spoiled in their declining years.
We are not sure how old Millie is. She was a rescue dog that spent her puppyhood on the streets until someone managed to catch her and take her to a police station. The police think she was probably an unwanted Christmas present. It really makes my blood boil.
She has led an accident prone life and has 2 back legs containing much metal and a fused spine where she attempted to catch a ball and twisted in mid-air, falling to the ground screaming. She has cost PetPlan an eyewatering amount of money. Now she can't sit and is not supposed to walk for more than 5 minutes at a time.
However, she is pampered from nose to tail. Rules me with a rod of iron and to our knowledge must be in excess of 10 years old.
I don't know what led me into telling you Millies life history.I believe that friends are quiet angels

One of our neighbours has a retriever. For years we saw him being towed down the street by Freddie and heaven help if Freddie saw a friend he wanted to greet, our neighbour would have trouble hanging onto him. The years have gone by, now our neighbour walks gently along the pavement with Freddie walking slowly behind him. A dog's lifetime seems so quick, he's only 12.Make £2025 in 2025

I sympathise with Wondercollie over the painful joints. Since they took all painkillers from me I have permanent painful knees, hips, and shoulders, interspersed with every other joint. Just enjoy him while you can we all know what it is to lose a pet. We will all be here for you when he goes.
I am hoping the burning arms and legs are result of the PA and will go soon. I had my 3rd injection today. No one said I would feel worst for two days in between the injections. I had it this morning and I am ready for bed. I don't mean I have got ready for bed but I think I will go to bed early. I hope I don't do what I did after Fridays, I went to bed at 10pm and was up again just after 12. I watched 2 episodes of Vera and went back to bed about 4 am. I slept until 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon. That made it difficult to sleep last night so I only had 4 hours.
I was just offered a flat two hours ago. It was furnished and I would have to put up with their furniture, pay every week for it and get rid of my own they will not move the furniture. I am really going off this Housing association they have no consideration for their tenants at all.0 -
Oh nursemaggie, how frustrating! Fancy offering you a furnished flat! I suppose they'll take a huff because you don't want it :mad:0
-
Off course they did and he put it straight on my record. I don't understand why they don't move the furniture before. I have worked for two housing authorities and we always move the furniture to where it was needed not just kept the furniture in the house or flat. It's the second one I have turned down in the same scheme. It could even have been the same flat.
I am beginning to think I should stick with the other housing associations. These just seem weird. I have read that people in the same position as me putting up with the noise and the isolation can make you have a breakdown. I hope not on top of everything else.
Well I had better go to bed. Goodnight.0 -
Just popping in with (((Hugs))) for Nursemaggie, hope things get resolved for you with a lovely, comfy home soon xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

monnagran It was nice (sorry, I know teachers don't like that adjective) to hear about Millie's history. No wonder you are all so fond of her xx
((HUGS)) nursemaggie. I am so annoyed on your behalf!0 -
Hi,
Can anyone suggest me the pet camera to look after my pet even I am in office?0 -
Shhh, don't tell anyone but I'm wandering about the internet during work time. None of our systems work, the children have gone home and there's nothing much else doing.
It's no wonder you are so fond of Millie monna, she's been through a lot and lucky to have found you.
Sorry wondercollie is slowing down, hope winter isn't too harsh.
It's a really lovely day here, the sun is shining and it's as warm as toast. One of those days that could be spring or autumn.0
