Monna have sent your thought for the day to my eldest DS - very appropriate for him at the moment xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
I think about what would happen and where we would be if we had unlimited choice/budget, I can't imagine we'd do much better than where we are now. But maybe we'd have a better garage door. And the gutters might no leak.
We went today to a local ...er.. restaurant/takeaway. A funny little place, warped tables, plastic chairs, odd decor, squeezed into a little corner, byo drinks ($5 bottle of wine) and we sat alongside folks who could very conceivably be millionaires eating excellent food and being friendly with the chef/owner and thinking, if I had $20 million I'd still want to be right here right now.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
That's good softstuff, nice to be happy where you are.
I seem to have wasted hours trying to work out what my council tax would be if I had to pay. They have changed it so many times this year, what with their mistakes twice, Them mucking it up when they stopped all my benefits and made two more mistakes in the process. Then DS moving out thus getting me the 25% discount and lastly me getting Attendance allowance changing it again because it takes away the cap. I cannot work it out. This housing authority want to count Council tax benefit as income but you don't get it in cash they just deduct it from the bill.
I just can't work it out because none of their dates tally with the actual council tax year. I don't have the bill for a full year.
I have decided not to bother with the complaint form it's so complicated because Virgin Media often contradicted themselves within the same hour I have an inbox full of emails from them. They did not take any money on the due date of the bill they changed to Zero.
I Decided I was better off not winding myself up over it, even if I did want to punish them for their incompetence and the stress they have caused.
I think I will leave the housing association to sort out what my council tax would be without the 25% discount and my council tax benefit. The figures are on too many different bits of paper for me to understand what I need to do with it. I had over paid with all their messing about so which figure do I take off the rebate?0 -
nursemaggie you should get an A level in form filling, or maybe a degree.
I really hate the things. They are so ambiguous and ask for information that takes a fortnight to track down.
I rather like the person who, when faced with the demand SIGN HERE.............

Thanks Monna for the laugh.
Some of can't be tracked down because it does not exist.0 -
Morning all, and a very lovely one it is too. I'll take a strol along the beach later when the dog walkers have gone home. Its usually quiet on a Sunday. There may be a couple of fishermen at the end of the bay but thats about it.
Apart from that I have no plans.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY

It's finally a nice day. We've had rain, damp, smoke from the forest fires. It was miserable end to August.
So a BBQ this afternoon to empty the freezer of the half packs of hamburgers you acquire over the summer.
WonderCollie is aging rapidly. We took him to a breed meetup earlier this summer and he was the oldest Collie there. He watched and sniffed the other dogs but his heart just wasn't in it. His back hips are going to be his downfall. His walks are now a slow saunter to his favourite fire hydrant. People in the area still look for him and he likes to see them. Every day is a bonus but I don't think he will make it through a harsh winter, which is what we've had forecast.
The children go back to school on Tuesday after having the summer off and I am dreading the change in the drive to work.0 -
So sorry to hear about Wondercollie. How old is he?
My sister-in-law's DGD has just started school, in Pittsburgh. Apparently she's not impressed with the lunches.....
Ours start back on Tuesday too. The local mall will be awash with happy mothers0 -
WC is 12.5 years old. From what I see in the Collie FB pages 12-14 is the average age of passing.
I just am trying to keep him as happy and comfortable as possible.
My daughter in law works at the local school a few hours a day and is looking forward to going back. She misses "her" kids. She's been lucky, she can walk to work as the house they bought is roughly a five minute walk for her.0 -
