Always remind those worrying about exams that !!!8220;Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.!!!8221;
MTSTM, my all time low for a vegetarian meal was two lettuce leaves, a scoop of instant mash and a spoon of tinned spaghetti!
It's lashing down here so we will be staying put for a few hours, if it dries up later we will move on.Chin up, Titus out.0 -

We're one of those still waiting for non online results (WJEC are you listening!) but ds2 has had the UCAS letter to say he has his place at Cardiff despite the results he has not being as good as he hoped. So maybe the Computing is better than we thought.
Hugs to everyone waiting - we have been up since 6“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Oh, loving thoughts to all who are waiting for Alevel results. If they are not as good as expected do not despair. DB, against all expectations, failed all his. Swift change of plans. He went off into a career which he hadn't planned and ended up as a much respected headmaster who did his MA in his own time while teaching during the day, bringing up 2 children under 5 and building, with his own hands, a big extension on his house.
None of these things would have happened had he got the A level results he expected.
I'm back home again now and normalish life begins again.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Congrats Doveling and Thriftmonster juniors!!:T
Still waiting to hear from Best Friend's daughter and my niece.. Bit worried about the niece TBH..
Off to yoga shortly but will try to get through some bits of marking first. Then a hair appointment this afternoon. Spent the night in the spare bed as OH woke me when he came to bed and then started snoring fit to burst... he woke me when he went out this morning by slamming the front door three times... he really is a noisy bu88er..
Had a family trip to see Ant Man and the Wasp last night - was very good, even OH enjoyed it and he hadn't seen the first one.
Raining here, so no laundry doing today, and chicken fajitas for tea so quite straight forward. I may leave the chicken for the real carnivores and just have refried beans with the veg and accompaniments. I really am going off meat..I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Congrats Doveling and Thriftmonsterjunior! To those who don't get the results they'd hoped for, it's not the end of the world, even if it feels like it right now - I'm a firm believer in everything happening for a reason, even though I sometimes have a hard time understanding why, until all becomes clear!
Carrying on with the humongous decluttering - the other day I took 4 bags to the CS and 7 to the tip. Today there are at least 5 big boxes of glass and crockery to go to the CS, and more clothes to re-home. DD slept at a friend's last night after a birthday tea, DS (11) would not go to bed alone (they still share a room), and stayed down with us until we went to bed about 11, and he's still asleep! :rotfl:
"De-cluttered" a beef joint from the freezer for Sunday lunch, had more of it last night as stew, and the last of it will become chilli or spag bol tonight - using up all the odd veg in the 'fridge for all 3 meals - feeling a bit better that I'm getting back to OS ways at last after some time in the wilderness. When your head's a mess you can't function properly, including cooking!

We're going to have a very OS HM pepperoni pizza to celebrate tonight. Waiting for an RSPCA home visit at 10 - have reserved a cat who should be ok with a dog. Despite having had 5 rescue dogs still very nervous but fingers crossed.
Then I think ds2 will go to sleep - I don't think he slept a lot last night!“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Morning all.......congratulations to all those little people getting the results they needed. Fingers crossed for the rest. It WILL be ok, honest.
OK, I have a confession and I know you will be able to help.
I can't cook!!
Well, I say I can't but I can follow a recipe, although it never seems to work out as planned. I am so envious of you lot here, who can throw together meals.
I am a pescetarian (SP!) I eat some fish but not meat. DH eats anything.
I read that VJ'S MUM made salmon traybake, that sounds delish. Any SIMPLE ideas would be welcome as I seem to stick to the same things over and over e.g.
Tuna/pasta bake
veggie shepherd's pie (quorn mince)
omelette
broccoli/stilton risotto (I love but DH not so keen)
advice please!!
Have a super day0
