Nargle & Csarina - hope you both managed to get some decent sleep last night. Hugs to you both and your loved ones.
A couple of heavy showers here & more forecast later today but we are getting high winds 40 - 50 miles an hour till Monday and rain most of the day tomorrow. Was really looking forward to seeing the blood moon but no chance here. Maybe next time lol
My local council has started a programme for the over 55's to get active, so today I'm going to have a go at rowing! The sailing is coming along but I have to get DS or DH to row me out to my boat or hitch a lift if the patrol ribs are about. It's time I learnt to do it myself
I had my long blond (coloured) hair cut short a couple of months ago and with the remainder of the colour growing out it was a bit piebald so I've dyed it grey as that's what it will be naturally in a couple more months - I really like it.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Morning...... have just quickly read through and saw a couple of you lovelies have poorly DHs.
It's just awful and hope things settle down really quickly and anyone one else that's struggling gets some peace soon.
We had a just couple of spits of rain here but an almighty clap of thunder the other night that woke me up! Apart from that it's much the same only a little cooler.
Off to meet DD and family in a mo as it's DGS's birthday, then meeting a friend for lunch. It's all go at the moment. I have been really busy all week with various appointments and stuff but next week, hardly anything. Wish things could be more evenly spread out
Thanks for the email FUDDLE, haven't had a chance to check out yet but sending hugs to Kittie. Seems a tad unfair to me but I have no idea how the system works. Seems like your guilty without grounds.0 -
Morning, we’ve had rain, a fair bit, plus some hailstones, thunder and lightening. We missed the lunar eclipse but the world is a fresher, clearer place this morning so ok with me.
Nargleblast and Csarina, am hoping that you managed some rest last night and that there is better news today.
After a few days off I really need to get some exercise into the lovely Lulu and myself today, all the livery owners are on harvesting alert as there is nothing quite like a blast across the stubble fields!0 -
Enjoy your time with LuLu, Lainey.
Fresh here today. I've walked the dogs to the post box between showers and intend to get out and do some job in the greenhouse while it is cooler.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Where ever you are in France I think I'd like to be there. It sounds lovely.
Hope OH is home soon Csarina.
It is (was - i am on my way back) lovely. Extremely beautiful, warm, sunny, lots to do and doesn't get the hoards of holidaymakers like the Dordogne does. it is very overcast and threatening rain when i look out of the train window. I am somewhere in between St. Etienne and Grenoble, travelling north. Very humid this morning.
Eurostar were threatening strikes but seem to have abandoned that so hopefully I will get home today..I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Looks like the problems with the Tunnel have been sorted. And in any event Eurostar takes priority over the Shuttle. So welcome homeIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I took the plunge to let my grey hair appear in all its glory early last year. It took more or less 12 months for the blond dye to grow out. There is still a blond look in a certain light but I am very pale grey now!
I nearly dyed it in winter because somehow it seems natural to have slightly darker hair then but I knew that would be a backward step. I like my hair colour now and it avoids those nasty chemicals. Unfortunately my hair is fairly thin (except at the back ) and straight so I am restricted as to style
Funnily enough DH was not too sure about me going grey. I think he thought it would be embarassing to be seen with an older lady :rotfl:
You should know that he has receding hair now so I can get my own back
People do assume i am older than i am but who cares??!
Speaking of gaining a 'who cares' attitude - I knew I had finally grown up when one of my clients asked me to go to the supermarket for 2 packs of incontinence pads, which i did without a care in the world. Years ago I would have been embarassed. THAT SAME DAY another client asked me to do the same thing! I strolled into the same shop, got 2 more packs and went to the same assistant on the till. I have been getting sympathetic looks from her ever since :rotfl:
Oh well, the weather is cool and breezy and very cloudy but still not raining....... I am finally inclined to do some housework
Have already cleaned out 3 kitchen cupboards (and had to chuck two very OOD items, I am happy to use OOD stuff but not ones that have spoilt - rancid nuts and some 3 y.o. cooking chocolate which I only bought for a niece's birthday cake and didn't need it all). Have put a wash on and done the dishes. Vaccing and floor washing nextI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
:rotfl: Love the story about the pads:rotfl:It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

My coloured brassy ends are no more at the back but still 4inches at the front. I despise the ugly crispy miss coloured strands of straw. My salt and pepper is much more favourable and I cannot wait until I'm just me and natural.
Anyone says anything now about colouring away my grey I say 'never be disappointed you're aging, it' s a privilege denied to many' with a knowing look. Whether they think I'm getting at loss or the fact I'm a bit poorly I don't know, but it's enough to tug at them to just stop.0
