Fuddle if one can buy spelt pasta, that suggests that it can be made by a Fuddle significantly cheaper than buying...I have a spare pasta machine (don't ask :rotfl:) if you have space & it would be of any use?

I have a spare one too, if she'd like to double up? :D To answer from my experience, the first time I ended up with a saucepan of glue, the second time it worked perfectly. And it's cheap enough and fast enough to try and perfect. And you can make udon noodles too.

MMf007, I read your first paragraph and then had to double check it was you and not Hester.

Gawd Hester, your DD is a strong and brave woman doing what she does, even without this next level. I admire her balls and wish her well.

Hi can anyone advice me, my neighbor has built an extention a few inches off our boundary line, the initial plan was that they would render it and it would form a wall on our patio with a fence from the corner separating our gardens which I was more than happy with, they have now informed me that they want a fence putting up tight against there extention to preserve the boundary line! This will make our patio area look awful, do I have to agree with this?

Blimey this thread moves fast,I'm never going to keep up :)
I am another pagan :T I'm influenced by Norse beliefs and of course Mother Nature, I don't really mind what other people's beliefs are and respect them I also hope they respect mine too

Today I've been busy looking after DGS,he cheered right up after his nap and we spent a lovely day together,he did try to convert me back to eating meat though by sharing his ham sandwich with me at lunch time,I haven't eaten meat since 2011 when I rescued some exbatt hens, but in the year he has been here I've accidentally got meat in my mouth on several occasions, I normally give him cheese but thought I'd treat him to ham today.....serves me right :rotfl:

I really need to go to bed in a minute because I'm shattered and my legs are really hurting ,I have a chronic pain condition so am in pain a lot of the time and I think I've overdone the walking today,I'm currently managing my pain thing with a mind body treatment but it's early days so I'm still having some break through pain,I should be ok by tomorrow hopefully

Tomorrow's plans are to have a lie in followed by a leisurely breakfast then I'm off to get a long overdue haircut,I have really short hair but missed my last haircut so now I look and feel like a yetty,I really cant wait to get it all chopped off again,The it's home to finally clean out the chickens, they were giving me the beady eye earlier so I had better crack on with it or they will go on strike

Does anyone have a small dark corner I can sit and gibber in?
You're very welcome to sit under the computer desk with me and chew a slipper.

Hoping the Situation all works out for the best. x

My parents claimed to be Christian (though some of their actions left a lot to be desired ).

I found I had a big problem with the whole monotheistic (sp?) thing, and eventually found my spiritual home in Paganism. These days I often offer thanks to "any Deity who'd care to take credit". :D

I have four children, one is Christian, one agnostic, one atheist and one Jedi!

One of mine is a Pastafarian. The other claims to follow the Norse gods.

    Morning all,

HUH, I hope everyone is safe and secure soon. It sounds like a very difficult situation all around (as often these things are!)

Silva, I hope you're not suffering too much with the monitor!

We had surprise rain yesterday which cooled things off a bit, but I think it will be warm again today and then very warm Thursday before TS on Friday. I have a haircut booked in too Onebrokelady. I have mid length hair that veers into the territory of wild very quickly. It used to be long but is so thick that it isn't practical for early starts in term time. A friend is coming later to go and pick bilberries. Fingers crossed we get some! The red pepper hash last night was ok, but a bit bland. I think a few more herbs and some salt would have helped. Salmon and lentil salad for tea tonight. No idea bout lunch, we expected to have leftover hash but that didn't happen. I think there is a tin of tuna lurking somewhere as we've finished the cold roast veggies I usually do for such situations.

I tried a second round of the tiramisu and this one was a success so I shall write that in my recipe book for future special occasions. I've also made a cake with oat flour with applesauce and only a bit of oil which I shall try today and offer to my friend who can't eat wheat. I may try it myself first as it looks a bit dry. I may make an emergency chocolate run after my hair appointment if it isn't fit to eat  That has ended up being two treats in a week, unusual even before I tried to clean up how we eat but I'll chalk it up to 'research' for when I want to make a treat in term time and don't have the time, energy or will to experiment.

As for religion, I started out in a very conservative protestant church with evangelical tendencies and spent two years in a catholic school. I questioned it all in my early teen years and left most religion then. In university I watched a very dear friend treated abysmally by an Evangelical church leader during University (alongside many other young women). She was left in a mess and her life will never be what it could have been. It wasn't classed as abuse, but she had her soul, spirit and person absolutely crushed by fundamentalist teachings and there was nothing anyone who loved her could do to help her then and for years after.

I still love the architecture in all sorts of religious buildings and go in respectfully. I find peace in the rhymes of seasons and nature and I love to garden and meditate daily as a quiet space. I don't object to anyone finding love, compassion or comfort in religion and respect those who adhere to a religious faith, but I've also seen and felt it do a lot of harm--no matter what variety and I have little patience for that. I think if you find something that brings you some peace in this life that as long as it isn't doing harm you must hold onto it as tightly as you can.

I'm sure that is a bit of an essay now so I will shut up and go and have my breakfast! :rotfl:

Whilst I'm not a believer in anything particularly I do believe that if it works for you then carry on. Good luck fuddle, I wish you well.

Have a good holiday VJs mum, sounds fab.

I usually go swimming in the mornings before work at a pool near school but as I'm off for 6 weeks decided to go to my local pool. I had forgotten about the hoards of pensioners who potter up and down chatting in great big groups (hardly any swimming) and generally getting in the way of anyone wanting to swim lengths (me and a couple of others). An elderly woman got in and was obviously not very confident in the water so I moved away from the side to let her swim. Another woman stopped me (I actually used to work beside her) and told me that Mrs so and so had to be near the side of the pool. I told her I had moved over for her but she went on telling me that I shouldn't be there swimming up an down like an olympian (if only!).

I'm so annoyed, everyone has the right to be there, we all pay but it seems to be an exclusive club on a Monday (The woman also told me that it was not a good idea for me to go on a Wednesday or Friday morning either!). I think I'll get up early in the morning and travel along to my usual pool.

    Sorry for the rant!

What is going on. My poor OH has been swimming at a pool near where he works for over a year. Last night he accidently kicked a lady who is a regular, who swims in the wrong lane but everybody swims around her. When he got back to her again he apologised, but she said he should have apologised immediately and that she didn't accept his apology. Words were exchanged (OH would have been polite), a kangaroo court developed, the manager was called and OH was kicked out!

Now he's stuck with nowhere to swim for the next 3 months while he finishes his contract.
