Afternoon all.
Ye God's and little fishes, Monna and Mrs LW as Twins, that's a terrifying thought.
Does anyone have a small dark corner I can sit and gibber in?
This has to be purposefully vague. When a foster carer takes in a child they are rarely warned of any particular problems. The foster child's family and friends are not told where the child is and contact is at a prearranged time and place.
When a foster child is a teen with their own phone then a level of protection for the foster carer is missing.
Last time this happened, 5 or 6 years ago DD1 was living on an army base and the military police were called. This time it was a 999 call. The police were wonderful.Chin up, Titus out.0 -

My lovely yoga teacher once made the comment that she sees religions as the same thing from different angles - I know that many of them are very similar in lots of ways.
When I started school I was 4, it was a Catholic school and we were taught by nuns. I was upset one day as a group of kids told me my mother couldn't go to heaven as she wasn't a Catholic. Sister said that was nonsense and that prayer is like smoke, it all goes up some might get blown about and some might find an easier way but it all gets there. Sixty years later it makes me smile to remember how kind she was.0 -
Hester it's a difficult one . It depends on the age of the teenager , although as they're under foster care I would imagine under 18 .
It also depends who has disclosed the location and contact details . Birth family by searching or teenager by phone to one of them .
Obviously there is contact order in force so safeguarding are the best point of contact .
The spread of tech has made things far harder nowadays when it comes to keeping to official arrangements . Youngsters post their every move online in some cases which makes it easy .
My only advice if not already done is to contact services although short of moving elsewhere it's difficult to put the genie back in the bottle .
If it's the family that are the problem and it is leading to police involvement I would say following it up with the police would be an idea . My dd2 would know more than me but is not around at the moment . It is a breach of a legal agreement if it's coming from the family and also possibly harassment .

I think that is a very good analogy for explaining prayer to children (and grown-ups!) - I will save that for any grandchildren I may be blessed with

I think that's a lovely analogy too. I'm another who kind of has my own spiritual ideas. I feel an affinity with nature and the passing of the seasons. We had a wonderful parish priest here (OH was raised Catholic) who had some wonderful ideas. He was very in favour of celebrating religion wherever you are and not just in church.
I'd love to learn more about crystals. Are there 'good' places to get them from?

I was brought up catholic but with CofE primary education in a church school. Mum was catholic witb convent education resulting in a demon "more proper" underarm bowling action!
Dad was brought up Methodist but in later years was a "confirmed Agnostic" who had a CofE Mason, a Jew & a RC priest speak at his cremation service
Nowadays I chat privately to whoever listens as & when I have need, one son is decidedly non-religion while the other has religion as a major thread through his life. Each to their own2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
