Can I ask if anyone has had problems ordering from Amazon in the last few days ? I know they had an issue earlier in the week and asked people to strengthen their password by reentering it and typing the random letters beneath . I've done it three times and still they're asking me when I go to order .
Monna as usual yesterdays Thought for the day resonated . When I finally tracked dd down after she left the room in tears last October having been yelled at by the evil consultant my words were This is not how the story ends . Sometimes I think you live in my head :rotfl:
The evil one sparked something beyond our wildest dreams and the story is much different now .

Afternoon all,
I've read back a few pages and all I can say is that they confirm what I already knew: that you're a terrifically strong, compassionate and loving group.
We've been away twice--once to Yorkshire for two nights and then a week with mum and dad. Yorkshire was bliss--we loved every moment of it. Lots of historic sites, houses and gardens and glorious weather for it. It was nice seeing mum and dad, although we were ready to be home again yesterday. My brother is also visiting although due to a delayed flight we only had one evening with him. Still he will be with mum and dad for a couple of weeks which will be very nice for them all and it was good to see him after four years!
I've been busy today--a bit of unpacking, a walk to the shops for a few bits, a walk up the hill to check the bilberries (they're having a terrible year but I might manage some yet) and I'm just simmering apples now for applesauce (the American version like a rough apple puree, I want to use it in baking). Oh, I've also sowed a bit more spinach and checked the plants. The slugs and snails don't seem to be bothering them although i do have something else eating holes in all of the foliage--no idea what
I have another week off and then a long frantic week at work and then some more time off, so I'm plotting freezer meals etc. to work on.
Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
Ladies, you are all so lovely.
Nurse Maggie, I remember doing my own nursing then midwifery training and being both humbled and amazed that any pregnancy actually made it, there was so much that could go wrong.
I have only popped in briefly, I am painting a commission and must wait for a layer to dry before doing the next bit ( it's very detailed and footery, but I need to do it justice )
I think that next week I will need to plan a 'Bero' day! I think scones, fruit, plain and treacle, plus a date and walnut loaf and maybe a wee Victoria sponge :-)
Dear fellow Scot Mardatha, I used to make sweeties every week when I was a teenager. I rarely make anything like that now.
Onwards and upwards, ladies of the Fence!

It's good to see you Linda . I imagine MMF will be bending your ear as she's working on her art .
I should warn you Mar will be planning a sad request to the sweetie maker whether she's allowed them or not !

If I ever manage to make tablet that turns out, we will probly never eat anything else again0

Backgrounds are painted in! Now let them dry.
Mardatha, I do make a lovely buttery tablet, although I don't really care for it myself. I do make a rather delicious Bailleys and Nutella fudge, my friends love it :-)
I don't know if this applies to anyone else, but I find that the pleasure for me is in the creation of lovely bits of deliciousness and in watching other people eat and enjoy them.
