Nursemaggie, I'd like to say I wasn't accident prone, but my history proves otherwise... don't think anyone will remember, but the reason we ended up with a dyson is I got my boob trapped in the extendable nozzle of the previous vacuum
.

Priceless :T
Oh and re your pretty ironing board...keep it but use it as a sideboard with a nice vase of flowers perched on top
ETA: Fab photos it all looks lovely, you are excused your absence now

How lovely to see you Softstuff :j Sorry work is such a pain
Lovely pics though I was a bit  to find pics just below yours from sites asking, among other things, if I was a great fan of Asian girls
I love the bathroom, though I dread to imagine what a mess my OH would make if we had a basin like thatThink "Water, water everywhere"......
Thinking of you burtha xx
((HUGS)) to everyone else who has loved ones with cancer.
Mr ivyleaf went to hospital on Thursday for an ultrasound of his painful hip, and to his surprise also had the local anaesthetic and steroid injections he'd been expecting to have at some point at a different hospital! Apparently they sent him the wrong letter.....
At any rate he's feeling a lot better atm, and has to keep a note of how long it takes before the pain comes back so the doctor knows whether to give him a course of similar injections or proceed to surgery.0 -
Oh. Oh. Oh. Softstuff reappears and what am I doing? I'm watching the cricket on Channel 5.
Anyway, good to see you SS, and everything looks wonderful in chez nous. Just one small request, a little stool by your loo please. For those of us who are stature deficient. Actually we have a little pink plastic one recently made redundant by Pickle. I could send that over to you, it would fit into your bathroom decor wonderfully.
As for giving a round up of weekly news, well, I could do that of course but I'm not too sure about the fishy voice.Thank you tablet. That would be d.I.s.h.y. Anyway the last time I did a church service a lady said afterwards, "I want to die to the sound of your voice." Not at all sure how to take that.
I must now plan my day. Avoiding, of course, all dangerous activities. That rules out vacuuming, cooking and ironing obviously. Ah well, carefully making a mug or two of coffee, assembling a platter of cheese and biscuits and fruit cake and settling down with TV, my book and my knitting it is then. I do like to look after myself.
That reminds me. Watching the cricket last night the camera swept over the spectators and among all the hearty sporty types I spotted a lady of about my own age . She was just sitting there peacefully knitting something small and white. I guess another grandchild is expected.

Hello Softstuff, lovely photos. Are you in Aus? I'd be too scared to go out in the garden, even though it is beautiful! All those lethal spiders
off to pay in cheques from clients (need to cover my dentist's bill next week!) then a day out for me and DH. We are going across the county to an antique emporium for a good nosey. We have picked up some good quirky presents for family there in the past. I am on the lookout for a Pembroke table although DH not keen on parting with our current dining table. I have set up my new satnav to get us directly there (the place is way off the beaten track) - we should avoid arguments about which way to go but doubtless we can argue about tables instead !I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Hi all,
roller coaster couple of days , everything ok , just dealing with kids emotionally is draining.. he had planned on taking then out all day on Thursday ... he managed two and a half hours ...! ..
Yesterday he collected one from her outing with her friends ,so I could collect ds .... so 30 min then
Today he is supposed to be doing something cheap with them , as he has no money ...not surprising as his hew car was collected this week and they have moved into there new house ....
But as yet nothing from him....
He got till 12 ,before I take kids somewhere
Then bit of a night out tonight , probably sit somewhere and put the world to rights ... start slowly
But if I end up dancing on the tables I apologise now .....£223/ £250 GC0 -

I too was an avid reader and read all of the above girls' books, plus Noel Streatfield (Ballet Shoes etc), but having two older brothers I also read Billy Bunter, Biggles, the William books, then the Colditz books followed by Alistair Maclean & Len Deighton from my dads shelves. I also read Agatha Christie, the Bertie Woodhouse books, Elizabeth Gaskell, Georgette Heyer & Jane Austen, then all the Miss Read books.
