My eyes you lot can rabbit. I take a day off and the thread goes berserk. I did write a long post but it must be your lucky day because it disappeared into the ether.

Your stories about what dogs manage to eat had me giggling. I don't know why because Dora has made several good meals from the legs of my dining chairs. Most of them are just well chewed but one leg looks horribly thin. All the garden furniture has bits missing. Mind you it did make Pickle a bit tidier as any toys left on the floor were fair game. She had hysterics when all that was left of a Barbie doll was half an arm.

I can't remember much more of what has been going on so I'll say goodnight and will try to be a bit more switched on tomorrow.

    Hope you are OK burtha.

Monna I know what you mean . I'm one of those guilty of rabbiting on and have read so many big and varied posts today and laughed my self silly too . In the last few hours I've had the dreaded windows update which leads to the firefox hissy fit followed by windows defender putting things right apart from me needing to reset all the malwarebytes settings which turn off at some point in the saga .
I've just looked back and decided tomorrow is another day and I'll catch up then .
So I'll wish you a good night and that one of your dreams actually reaches a satisfactory ending this time .

Thinking of you burtha , take care .

  • Morning all,

I suspect my green light is on a lot. I tend to have lots of 'tabs open' and rarely close them when I'm working. My laptop screen is on its last legs so I avoid opening and closing too much as well so it probably looks like I'm always 'on' even when I'm working.

OH is at the dentist today so I'll be working etc. I'm planning a walk this afternoon as the weather looks glorious.

We are FINALLY having the soup today--italian chicken and veg with noodles added after I take out half to thicken and use in a pie tomorrow. Aldi shop tonight and hopefully an early night. I slept badly last night and was awoken early by someone next door sitting in his car idling with the radio on. It was so loud I could hear the advert even though he had his windows closed and was across the road. I've been plotting all sorts of ridiculous revenge since...whoopee cushion under the tyres next time he brings a date home?? It is the little things, isn't it?

Right, I'd better get to work.

Hugs to all who need them.x

Getting fed up of the BBC weather being miles off this summer. We were promised 2 lovely days, yesterday & today. Supposed to be sunny and 17c. So we went out on the bike only to shiver and chitter in cold grey low cloud. Today really felt like Oct & everybody we met said the same thing, Had a fabulous hot pot of tea and lovely scone in a tiny wee cafe in Broughton which saved us from hypothermia.
My mum and granny were Glasgow Irish and they too were 5ft, heavy drinkers and smokers. My granny had 10 kids (that lived, some more who didn't) and she lived until she was 87.

A fairly quiet day today. 3 hours work, home for a bite to eat then best part of an hour at the denitist. I have another 2 appointments there this month so the bill is mounting up :(
DH has had 2 pieces of work equipment breakdown this week. Both are in for repair but he had to buy a substitute to continue his work today :(

Hey ho, nothing we can do about it. We are powering on through, as my brother says! We have a self-catering break in Sept to look forward to, and hoping to meet up with BIL and some dear friends, to catch up, so it could be worse. At least the sun ismshining here, a beautiful evening.

Friday is my day off but I already have a substantial 'to do' list. I do like a good to do list, really motivates me and keeps me focused.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Hi all, sorry haven't posted since god knows when , life if a bit of a blur ag the minute , alternative between work , home to upset dd , collect ds from what friend he is with , feed , cats ,dogs, chickens, kids ...
Dd was upset yesterday , came back from work for her to be in bed in tears .... hence late shopping trip , late tea...thank god they are teanagers...
    But I am shattered ...
Ex came around tonight for 15 mins , woop woop , to take about the house ...
Spoke about the kids , he is living in a dream world ... nothing he has told them he has done , now he can't do anything with them till the end of next week , away with gf this weekend ... kids can see through him ... sad
    Let's see what happens ....
On the other side of this ,you do find out who your friends are ... I work for a family ,who are like my family because I have been there soo long ( 30 year) .. my original boss have now retired but still run by there children ... anyway .. It was horrible tell my old boss what's going on , felt like I was letting down my parents , kind of thing ... anyway ,my holidays are in a weeks time , so now me and the kids are going away thanks to them ... time to escape the madness for a week or maybe 2 , stay as long as I need ...
I know it can't change anything , but if ex wants to do anything work wise in the house he has 2 weeks ... After that I am pushing to move on ...
Apart from that , I have been running each day , no energy for it really but have to do it , so need 30 min of headspace, tears, can't breath,frustrated,angry,sad,....sometime wish I could just keep running and not come back ... but if I can keep going it's a bonas ... so tonight got down to 9 min /miles ... hardly competition for premium athletes but hey , started at nearly 15 per mile , so at least something is going right lol .
So onwards and upwards , and the plus side ... 2 dress sizes smaller , on the outside I am putting on a good show that all is fine , most of the time ...graceful and respectable hopefully...
even though that's not how I feel .
    thank you xx

burtha Spotted this as I was about to head to bed . You're are doing fine love . Battling back against a horrible painful situation . You are well loved and liked by the good people in your community and you have earned that over the years . I admire your strength and courage in all that's happening .
Enjoy the holiday . It will take you and the family away from the madness .
Just each day at a time and love to you all .
