Or a cattle prod! Hester I know it's different on canals but when we caravanned I always used to look for somewhere to overnight by about 4pm. That way we had time to get pitched and sorted for the evening. Used to be a battle of wills as DH was always hell bent on getting to the destination instead of enjoying the journey - he learnt!!

That s what I do, start looking about 4ish, but CHS is always convinced that there is somewhere better to moor just a bit further on.

Hester, can you charge a power pack when you do have solar and then use that for your Kindle when there is no solar?
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Well Hester, if its a DIY entertainment this evening I suggest that you make CHS suffer. How about singing every song you can think of, including nursery rhymes, one man went to mow (you could get up to about half the population of Reading if your voice holds out) and remembered school hymns. To be followed by long boring poems, I spy, and I Went To Market And I Bought something begining with A etc.

Keep that up for 3 hours and not only will you be so exhausted that you sleep like a log tonight, I bet you'll be moored somewhere suitable by 2 o'clock tomorrow.

Monna, you are a genius. In the words of Douglas Richardson (for fans of cabin pressure) "a surprisingly evil genius" :rotfl:

"How much is that doggy in the window?" :D

CHS is like my DH. No, not that way! DH is always convinced there is a better place to strive for. That personality trait drives me demented!

I was a very silly girl. I helped too much with the shed. I'm now putting myself on 2 days bed rest. The pains are back. I'm cross with myself, believe me. I thiught, as I felt fine in the moment, I would be ok. It caught up with me. :(

Shed is cracking. Mr Pea Seedling has seen and he approves! there's hope for fuddle's harmonious gardening yet. The roof isn't finished properly and is just tacked but indoors is all set out. DH made me a a potting place and everything has a place now. It's a rackety thing but it is solid, and purple. :D

I had a visit from my sister today. Didn't once ask me about.my health, no interest in the purple shed that used to belong to her - wouldn't even look out the window to see it - made a comment about my Joules body warmer and when I said I got when I lived in Dorset she commented that I could only afford it when I was in Dorset  she told me she couldn't stay long as she was booked in for a massage at her health club, told me all about the shopping trip that I was supposed to go on for her birthday but chose to do the shed instead and then told me all about her friends booking to have afternoon tea at Marco Pierre White's restaurant. she basically came to see me so she could pick up her birthday present. I made a knitting needle roll with bamboo needles as she's just started knitting - all sizes below 6mm to which was met with 'oh they are no good, I only knit in chunky knit'. :( I said to DH that she has gone back to how she was before mam died - self absorbed and cutting. I can't be bothered. My life is simple and carved out how I like it. I might only play about with green things in muck and toddle off to my caravan but I'm happy. I'm dreading the next time. We have got on so well for over a year now. I dunno what has gone wrong. Maybe it's because I didn't go birthday shopping with her. I dunno.

I like it VJsmum. I may add it to my coat of arms.

Cross posted Fuddle. D'you know, I'm almost disappointed that Mr P. S. approves of your shed. He has stepped right out of character, which is disconcerting.

As to your sister.......A narcissist of the first order I feel.
