Fingers crossed Monna.
We stayed in bed until lunchtime today.
Snowing here but not much and it's not pitching.
Fuddle I'm wearing two pairs of leggings, bootie slippers, vest, long sleeved tee shirt, short sleeved tee shirt, a top and a hoodie. CHS is bemoaning a lack of stockings and suspenders!
The stove is roaring away, tomorrow's lunch, lamb shank is simmering on top.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Tights under jeans work quite well Fuddle
The last big push to sort study and lounge is going well. OH and I did a tip trip in a blizzard :rotfl: but then treated ourselves to lunch out. OH sorted through various files of his 'stuff' and kondoed quite a lot :T including the evidence from his brother's inquestwhich was sobering but, at the same time, very much indicated that there was nothing we could have done (for the uninitiated my BiL died by suicide 8 years ago). I had never read the evidence before. However, we've no need to keep it. So 6 months after 'drain-gate' we are just about there. I will try to show some photos tomorrow. Our 'new' lounge is just lovely now..
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hester, Inform CHS that this is absolutely not the weather for stockings and suspenders. Nasty uncomfortable things anyway to the best of my memory, however, it's a rare man who would agree with me.
VJsmum. It was probably quite cathartic destroying the evidence of what must have been an awful time. Enjoy your new lounge, its the future that is important now.
My lovely couple want to come back again tomorrow. There goes my slobbing out day, but it will be worth it if something positive comes out of it.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Quick pop by from me
NM good luck for the flat hunting for you and DS
Fuddle enjoy your break away
Monna fingers crossed the house buyers loved your house enough to make a reasonable offer
Mar get well soon
Karcher another virtual shoulder to cry on if you need it
Burtha hope all is ok with you
Hugs to anyone else who needs them xx0 -
Late to the party, but I love to eat mackerel... I just don't like continuing to taste it for three days after
I'm with Fuddle, we like smoked salmon. I buy the cheap offcuts, odd shapes, same great flavour. Also we've taken to buying cheap fresh salmon from the local fishmongers, at about 50p per 100g, you can't beat that. Cheaper than mince here. Again odd shapes, but so am I so
Forgot to mention, I reweighed yesterday and have forgiven the scales (I reckon I was weighed down by monthly fluid retention). I lost 2.6kg over the 2 weeks. Great progress. :T
Good luck with the viewing Monna, it could be Millie swung it for them, then you'd forgive here for the wake up... almost.
Next time CHS whines about the lack of stockings in arctic conditions, pop them on over the top of everything else
Stay toasty Fuddle xSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Hester I'd tell CHS wants stockings and suspenders in this cold weather I'd be happy for him to wear them! Give his feminine side some encouragement?Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Ooh, sounds like plenty of fencers are enjoying the fruits of their labours (boats, caravans, house cleaning, decorating, kondo-ing, sewing and reading etc, lovely!!).
Love to Karcher x0x
Thinking of Burtha and hoping things are looking up.
DH and I spent a couple of hours solid chatting with mum. Lots of reminiscing about the mad things that have happened in the little scottish village my parents moved to about 28 years ago. Mum had a really good laugh, which was great to see after the incredible hard work and then upset of recent times. She is obviously enjoying having the company (not that she lacks visitors, but we are here for a week so she is relaxing).
I then completed almost all of the various forms she had saved up for me relating to dad's death. Mum said it is a weight off her mind. Just need 2 valuations so i can total the estate and submit details to HMRC. Luckily it was very straightforward and there will be no inheritance tax due.
Tomorrow we are going out for lunch but I think we have furniture to move round first. Mum is taking the opportunity to rearrange things more to her liking!
No snow up here but BLIMEY the wind was bitter during our stroll round the village this morning and the sea was ROARING in. Keep warm All xI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
WE HAVE SNOW!!!
Nothing to match yours mar, its quite pathetic really, but here down in the tropical south its quite exciting. Millie blames me. She bounded out of the door at 4.30, skidded to a halt, turned round and gave me a reproachful stare.
I am quite confused. Last night I had an e-mail to say that my couple were coming back for another viewing today. I reviewed my plans for a sloppy, self-indulgent, do-nothing and hang-the-state-of-the-house day and allowed myself a small frisson of excitement. However, this morning there is another e-mail saying that the EA has requested a feedback from the viewers. I'll have to check up on that but I think I'll have to wait for a more civilised time.
Apart from that I have nothing more newsworthy to tell you. Except that my wonder clock that tells me the time, the date, the day and the temperature, has gone into a huff at being shut in a drawer yesterday. Well, it's hardly a thing of beauty. When I took it out last night it went haywire. According to me it is just after 6.30am on Sunday 18th March and it is freezing. Disgruntled clock insists that it is 11 48, on Saturday the 1st January and the temperzture is 22.
It does this every time the clocks change, it takes about 3 weeks to catch up. Until then I will be like Macavity the Mystery cat and be "resting and a-licking of my thumbs , and engaged in doing complicated long-division sums." every time I want to know what the time is.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)I believe that friends are quiet angels

Lovely snowy morning here and the resident blackbirds were lined up on the coalhouse waiting for their digestives at 5.30
I've been awake for hours and the daftest things going through my head. Re-vamping the back garden for my old age.. new shed, wee path, nice rose garden. Then you look out the window at it and your heart drops!!0 -
Morning monna, we cross-posted. I am up and functioning!0
