Well at least your walk would have a purpose fuddle. I am sure you will have had a blood count done when you had the other blood tests. If you have anaemia the surgery will tell you. You could call them this afternoon.
I am sure your DD will be fine.0 -
I'm on my knees here, from exhaustion, I'm not performing sexual favours for CHS.
DD1 wanted a lift today to Bicester Outlet village to collect a birthday cake so I left home at 7am to drop CHS at work and got home at 4:30 after collecting him. I've driven 150 miles which is a lot for me and I'm in so much discomfort I may turn to Sloe gin for relief.
The discomfort is not caused by the driving g but it did exacerbate it. It's caused by de quervains disease.
Still it was all worth it, we had brunch out and it was lovely to spend time with DD1 and the twins.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
fuddle, Will is aka Worzel. The eldest, tall, slim and fairly devastatingly good looking can wear a bin bag and look elegant. Will, short, square and everybody's friend with the sweetest smile that can disarm the biggest grump, couldn't care less what he wears as long as it's comfortable. And it shows.
Hester, sorry you are so exhausted. I have often worried about de quervains as I can only knit for a short time these days before the excruciating pain in my thumb and wrist makes me give up. I dread having to give up knitting as I can't just sit and watch TV or read a book without having something to do with my hands.
This growing old thing is no joke, is it?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening,
Back after being MIA - have been getting the house decorated and new floors in some of the rooms ....so that we can put it on the market.:sad:
Have just spent all the time after work catching up on the thread - if I'm too late for the cruise I shall just have to launch the inflatable canoe and paddle out after you all.
NM - sorry to hear about the bungalow.
Fuddle - so glad for your dd. How did the first day go?
Off to sing my heart out at choral society in a bit - one of the things I have started in my new life - skulking on the back row of the altos. We're doing Haydn's Creation which is glorious.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Ooo, lots going on for everyone today.
And then there's Hester on her knees .....??? Softstuff drooling over Sean Bean, and Monna with several charming and handsome sons!
Haircut went well but blimey, the off cuts were more salt than pepper :rotfl:
My working day was not as energetic as it could have been. One client just wanted me to take her our for a coffee! Actually she then decided to buy herself lunch at the cafe. My lunch was in my butty box in the car and I had to sit and watch her chow down while my tummy rumbled 'cos buying lunch there would have cost my hour's wages! Of course the (client's) lunch made us a bit late so I had to rush to my last client, then to do some shopping for my auntie and finally got my lunch at 6pm. Oh well, it must be helping my diet!
BTW, it was neither time nor expense that put me off dying my hair. I stopped because i), the colour changes from a nice ash blond to straw colour after a few weeks, ii), I finally realised that it is probably not such a good idea to use all those chemicals every 6 weeks or so.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Spent all afternoon house hunting online, must have caught uncoordinated fingers somewhere. My typing was full of Bs wherever an N should be.
Now that DS has decided to have a motorbike he says we can live further out. We could stay here if we were allowed to have a garage. Anyway I have looked at everything west of where we live and there are some very nice houses there. I'm surprised they are not any more expensive than here. They put the price up on two bed terraced just 2 streets away because it is in the posh area but when you really get there they are the same price.
I can't find him a garage though. At least I have a longer list now.
Ouch hester & monna! I gave up knitting a few years ago because of that. It got better and I have been knitting fine for the last three years. I tend to go to sleep in front of the TV. my knitting sometimes keeps me awake. It would improve the sleepiness without the neighbors from hell.0 -
I stopped dying my hair a few years ago, lo and behold it was still blonde! Darker blonde now with a few rather nice grey streaks but not too bad. Like softstuff, I've had more compliments since I let it go au natural!
Hope DD enjoyed her new school fuddle.0 -
The first day was iffy. She was the centre of attention and didn't like it. She cried in the toilets after first break but talked to a girl who kept asking if she was OK at lunch time. She had her hand up three times and answered twice so she must have felt OK to do that. She's going to try to talk to the girl again tomorrow. Basically she's realised that with growing older comes insecurity. She says she's likes the school but its not the same as other moves and she didn't think she would miss the comfortable feeling of a school she didn't really like. I explained that it's better than other moves because this move is where she's supposed to be. It's final and it's home the only thing that is different is that she's older and with that comes negative emotions that we have to learn to control. I explained I cried on Monday when I was away from comfortable and that Dad feels the same when he has to work somewhere new and that's its normal to miss comfortable but it doesn't last. I explained that her new comfortable has already started and tomorrow will be that much easier.
I didn't expect this. I thought she was too bubbly for it to effect her but we've both been caught off guard I guess.0 -
