Yes, Floss. They made new wills when they moved to Scotland, essentially mirror wills.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0

I really had no idea the 'efferlump was still on the rampage. The things you miss when you're incommunicado (couldn't have typed that one on the tablet Monna, gonna be using all the big words now, sometimes more than one in a sentence!). Monna, who's to say all fairies are delicate flyers, some might be needed to get around in stormy weather and as such might be more prone to swifter more forceful winging. No sense in fluttering in a gale eh?
Hester, I hope you didn't take advantage of CHS when he was all nude and helpless.
I've hidden my jelly babies. You never know how desperate Mardatha might get, and after all, she likes warmer weather too.
Thank you for the welcome back Ivyleaf xx
MMF, I also read that as you eating clients. If they look anything like jelly babies, warn them about Mardatha. Good luck with the executing (of the will, not the clients).
Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Softstuff This is a different hefferlump because the other one [STRIKE]ended up in mar's freezer[/STRIKE] went missing.
monnagran Bless Pickle's heartI bet she enjoyed performing.
mar I really hope today is a better day for you xx
Will be thinking of you fuddle. Hope you get the right result xx
Islandmaid Thank you for the pics! Mind you, I regretted clicking on the first one to enlarge it, as I was then invited to meet a lovely young Asian girl
I didn't click on the second one.....
I'm sleeping badly recently, and am all aches and pains. I'll persuade OH to venture into the boxroom to find the thicker mattress topper, which has been in there in its bag for several months waiting to be taken to the dry cleaner's to be washed and plumped-up - it's warmer than the one we're currently using, so we took it off the bed last Spring and I said "Right, we need to take that to the cleaner's tomorrow." OH agreed but somehow it's never happened0 -
Oooh! It's lovely to see your user name pop up again Soft stuff. I can't wait to read your posts full of humongous words. The real fun begins when you try slipping in a well known foreign phrase. Well known it may be, but tablet is having none of it and some of its interpretations would occasion a long row of exclamation marks.
I find it easier to proof read as I go along and remove the double entendres toot sweet.
I promise you Ivyleaf that if I should find a lovely young Asian girl wandering round the village, I'll parcel her up and send her to you. Your OH may find her more exciting than your mattress topper.
It's a bit murky here today but not so cold - you can't have everything. I have the first of a batch of funerals to go to this afternoon and am hoping that it won't be raining. I know that black and sombre colours are no longer de rigueur at funerals but my luminous, bright orange, smack-in-the-face mac may be a step too far.
May the vibes be with you today, fuddle. If courage should fail (I'm sure it won't) just remember that this is for your lovely girl.
In the absence of any other exciting plans I will potter off and leave you all to your busy lives.

Morning All
Been offline the last couple of days as my tablet has thrown a wobbler so have got on the 'pooter to see what you are all up to. MY what a lots been going on!!
Mar & NM - sorry you're both not feeling good at the mo
Fuddle - good idea to write it all down then you won't have forgotten anything and you'll have got your message across in black and white with no ambiguity. I'd also take a note of names and titles at the meeting so you know just who you are dealing with for future reference.
Just a tip - if there is a comment/question that needs some thought before a response - repeating what has been said to you gives you a moment and also sometimes it can make people realise that their comment is unsuitable/unwarranted etc or may need further clarification from them.
Softstuff - so pleased you have come back to the fold - we've missed you!
Island maid - sorry to say that is not my boat in the picture of Monna's area or residence
Monna - what a wonderful picture of me you have - unfortunately the actuality bears no resemblance. Tall - yes but the rest - no. More like a sinewy, frizzled hair scruffy person muttering under her breath as she hauls on the ropes - never draped in her life lol - loved the Sunday thought too.
MMF - awful situation for your SiL - do hope she can get some resolution very soon.
Hugs to all poorlies and those who are going through some challenging times.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
My cold has turned out not to be so bad. I am recovering already.
I have just had a phone call about the bungalow we wanted. Someone else has got it. Start again then.
softstuff Delighted you are back. You have been really missed. I had just given up on you ever getting back. I had decided that working full time and doing up your house was too much, you had no time.0 -
Another woman with cold alert...
Came on last night, mostly sniffles and a scratchy throat. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse - I haven't the time.
Up early today furniture shifting - we got back too late to do it last night. We are walking the Wales coast path - aiming for all of it, eventually, but so far are about 130 miles in. On saturday we finally made it to the start :rotfl:, which is in Chester.
Furniture shifting is because we've had carpet fitted in the study and lounge, following 'floodgate' last September... Swedish furniture arriving Saturday so we will remain in chaos for a few days yet as we need assembly space. TV watching will be interesting as we have two sofas facing each other in the other lounge (yes, we have two). Carpet is lovely though - and, I think that, just maybe, the end is in sight. If you're really lucky, there'll be pictures next weekend.
Meeting older brother on Wednesday for a beer and to discuss wills and probate issues, so hopefully I will be a bit more in the know then.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I'm on the bus on my way home. I didn't even get the chance to say my piece. DD is in the local school. The local authority couldn't answer my or the panels questions and not enough evidence was submitted to show that DD's admission would have a detrimental effect on the school. The word they use is prejudice. She's therefore in!
What happened was my questioning was just obnoxiously argued against with 'it's impossible to argue this with historical data or for the future. You need to ask questions about the data in front of you're. Pulse was pounding in my neck and my hand was shaking the water out of my pot. I'm so embarrassed but it was a bit of anger, frustration, nerves and worrying about breaking down saying all.my words. The panel asked the very same questions to which she changed, replied with 'I expect so' or 'I don't quite know' etc. We both had to leave the room. Awkward! Then back in and I was told the appeal was closed and I can arrange transition with the school tomorrow. I cried so much with relief of it all. Again, really embarrassing!
But it's done. I'd like to say I did it!!! But I didn't - LA incompetence swung it really. Still the right thing has happened.:D0 -
Fuddles 1 - the world 0! A fantastic result and a wrongness righted because you were brave enough to tackle the 'Goliath' of the educational establishment M'dear. I've been thinking for quite a while now that it was about time some 'good' things happened in your lives and prayers answered for just that! You REALLY are a Good'un xxx.0

Well done Fuddle. I suspect the outcome would have been very different if you hadn't faced your dragon and gone to the tribunal. I had to do the same for my daughter a long time ago and it is very intimidating. Why should it be one person against two lots of representatives? That in itself is enough to make a lot of people give up.0
