Aww mar, so sorry you're feeling poorly again :( i won't send you a hug as it would probably hurt atm!

So lovely to have you back Softstuff :T You have been greatly missed on here.

fuddle I second (or third) Floss's suggestion about typing out what you need to say and giving a copy to each person. I was going to suggest writing it down so you only had to read it out, but giving a copy to everyone as well is even better.

monnagran I wish I'd seen that Penelope Keith programme! I'd love to see your village, or is it a town? Anyway, I'll see if I can watch it online.

((HUGS)) to everyone (apart from mar atm - see above.)

I can do no more. I've put my all into it and if it isn't to be well it isn't to be.

I'm so glad that Islandmaid showed you the posh side of the village. I actually live on the south side. We don't have yachts on our side, we have dog walkers, horses and fishermen with lobster pots.

The dance show was interesting. Pickle's group were fairies. I could see that because of the wings. Although they were so small they did a great job of delicately wafting their arms around in the air. Except one who appeared to be doing a front crawl through a very rough sea.
Darcy Bussell she ain't. But I love her.

Oh Monna you , and Pickle, made me smile :)

Funny day today. Mum rang to discuss a few financial details and to say that she wants to crack on with the inventory for the scottish equivalent of probate. She then tells me I am an executor of the will, along with my brother. This was news to me! So I spent 3 hours researching what and how to deal with matters in scotland as it's a different process and different legal terms up there....

I later email my brother to ask if he will get valuations on some specialist hobby stuff and if mum does the rest of the inventory and sends it to me I'll sort the valuations for everything else.
I also explained to DB that children have legal rights to a percentage of the moveable estate, even if that is not in the will but that i assume he will renounce this, as I shall, so all passes to mum as per the will.

Brother rings me and says I am not an executor! But he'd be happy to resign his position as such and I can do it.

Oh thanks for the confusion and buck-passing

The upshot is that mum is an executor, along with DB so I shall do the leg work and form filling, she'll check it and then swear the oath for Confirmation. Luckily the distribution of assets is straightforward - all to mum, :rotfl: I reckon she can manage that! I've already worked out that there will be no Inheritance Tax to pay.

Anyway, more importantly, Fuddle, you go girl! Give them the facts, pull their rubbish apart and take your time to thinkmfor a moment before answering any questions. Good luck!!!
Mar, I so hope the pain reduces quickly. I shall eat a few jelly babies between clients tomorrow* and think healing thoughts.
    * oh, that looks like I eat clients as a main course and jelly babies as a palate-cleanser between courses!
    YKWIM.
    I'd better go! x
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

MMF has your mum arranged her own will, bearing in mind Scottish legal differences?
