Fuds If you have any spare time you may like Tanya's facebook page. An American living in the Isle of Man, Tanya keeps bees, makes toiletries and has an allotment. Some of her stuff is very interesting.

I follow her on the tube of you. Great minds. :D she's down to earth isn't she? She lives simply and I love it when she posts a new video. I don't follow her on FB though so I'll go do that now. TY.

FurryBeastOz, So sorry, I forgot you needed a hug too. I somehow didn't post yesterday, just read along instead, so i've forgotten some of what people said :o.

I hope we see Softstuff back on here soon.

Thanks for the suggestion of grated cheese silvasava :T I'll try that tomorrow.
  • So it was pouring with rain and CHS is twitchy, he can't paint the engine bay and he's not good at doing nothing. He wants a magnetic catch from B&Q and he wants it urgently.
He checked the weather app on his phone and announced that the rain is due to stop in 7 minutes. We get ready and exactly 7 minutes later step off the boat and on to the jetty in torrential rain and howling winds.
I am a firm believer in there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.
If I get wet then I will get dry at some later point in time. Not so CHS, he returns to the boat to don sou'wester, wellys and a brolly. I walk to the car.
We drive to B&Q I drop him off and drive on to the supermarket which is a few hundred yards further on. I have detailed instructions regarding how to park, what to buy, keeping my phone on me and not to be long as he doesn't want to be hanging around for hours waiting for me.
I shop, then return to B&Q, my beloved is not in the doorway where he said he'd be waiting so I park and go in. He is wandering around like a tit in a trance, hasn't found what he wanted but has picked up other items.
I find the magnetic catches we go to the checkout, where he manages to get into an argument with the automatic till.
We get back to the car, the sun is shining and CHS sweats heavily in his sou'wester and wellys.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Hester - been there done that & having a fit of the giggles - wonderful!!!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Thank you, Hester, for that mental picture - it did make me laugh.

Hugs to everyone who needs one - especially VJsmum and Furry Beast Oz

Dsis and I have managed to deal with all the Xmas leftovers and will be having pasta tonight. DS1 and his gf will be coming back here tomorrow and so we'll all be together including nsdh.

No snow here but there is a lot at home in Yorkshire so am praying the boiler is doing its thing for when I get home (alone - nsdh is away with work for a few days)

Ivyleaf. Our birds absolutely adore raw pastry dough. They queue up among the walls on baking days. How do they know?
They give an excellent display of aerobatics in their efforts to get at the dough before the seagulls come and bully them away. Millie is kept safely away behind the patio doors, dancing the Charleston and screaming her head off.
    Fun for all.
The birds enjoy the pastry dough.
    Millie enjoys the exercise.
    I enjoy the pantomime.

Oh Hester I have just read your post. My DH was wondering why I was laughing, as I've been there too. Why do men go doolally over such items as a screwdriver, bandsaw blades etc.. when they have umpteen at home already ? I will remember your " t.i.t in a trance " when next in a DIY store. Love it, thank you. :T
